  1. Per Joe Danneman's latest tweet, Coach Brian Weinrich will not return as coach at Highlands. https://twitter.com/FOX19Joe/status/1333891861954633730?s=20
  2. This will be Eddie Eviston's 100th win if the Colonels get the job done.
  3. A little confused why Cov Cath didn't go for two on that touchdown in the second half?
  4. Male has DuPont Manual on Thursday, and Cov Cath still has to play Dixie on Friday, but a lot of eyes are on this No. 1 vs. No. 2 game on Saturday night at 6 at Male. This has the potential to be a preview of the state tournament Saturday night semifinal game. So, who wins?
  5. At the mark of this play, you can even see the referee put his hands up when Ahlfeld gets bumped away as if to say, "That's a flop, nothing to see here." Could the situation have been avoided had Chandler just walked away and not done anything? Certainly, and it sounded like the broadcast clarified that pretty well. But from the actual contact, a small shoulder-bump from Starks wouldn't have warranted that reaction from Hunter, who's a very strong football player himself.

  7. I don't see Cov Cath losing a game to in-state competition this year. They might drop the game against Oak Hill, maybe Beckley (admittedly don't know anything about them), and then that Florida tournament they go to is always a toss-up. But this Colonel team...is legit.
  8. This was posted yesterday to the Cov Cath Football Alumni Page, and comes courtesy of play-by-play broadcaster Paul Fritschner. Ways to listen to the show: "Hello everyone! I wanted to let you all know where you can find future coach's shows, radio highlights from games, and any other recorded audio from the Colonel Athletic Network in the future. If you have an iPhone, you can subscribe to the channel and listen on Apple Podcasts by clicking here: Colonel Athletic Network on Apple Podcasts If you want to listen on Spotify: Colonel Athletic Network on Spotify And if you would like to listen online: Colonel Athletic Network • A podcast on Anchor Make sure to subscribe/download/leave a review!"
  9. So then what does Round 4 look like?
  10. For those in attendance, were the referees as bad as it seemed? The calls appeared fairly one-sided by these accounts.
  11. Haven’t had a chance to listen to the whole thing but caught some of it. Seemed like it was well done, hopefully they do it again at some point. Anyone know if it will be recurring?
  12. Just heard the coach's show that Paul Fritschner did with Coach Eviston. I saw CWB said it would be available afterward, here it is for those that didn't catch it: Football Coach's Show: 1
  13. The radio highlights got posted to Twitter earlier: Radio Highlights: Football vs. LaSalle by Colonel Athletic Network | Free Listening on SoundCloud
  14. Is there much reason to believe it will be any different from last year? CCH big in this one.
  15. The main concern for Cov Cath in this one is ensuring that nobody gets hurt. Otherwise, this will not be much of a game. Another complete mis-match.
  16. I'd also be interested to hear why CCH is a bad matchup for Scott County. The Cardinals seem like they've had the full package this year, although Moreno isn't playing at full strength right now.
  17. Agree to disagree here. If you want to dunk, throw it down. If you don't want it to happen, stand in and stop it. Simple as that.
  18. Agree to disagree here. If you want to dunk, throw it down. If you don't want it to happen, stand in and stop it. Simple as that.
  19. Beechwood fouled an enormous amount of times tonight, forced the Colonels to earn it from the line, and frankly, the Colonels didn't take advantage. Thing is, Beechwood didn't hit their shots in response either.
  20. I think a punctuation dunk against a team that has beaten you twice during your senior year as you are vying for a trip to Rupp Arena is hardly classless. Thelen had so many run-outs and transition layups, if you're not going to play defense, don't complain about the result. That being said, good on Baugh to challenge, and luckily nothing escalated.
  21. I really hope Colonel Nation turns out in full force for this one. This could be a really special environment tonight.

  23. Michael Mayer is an absolute gamechanger for Cov Cath. He just comes in, cleans up the glass, and does his job. He scored in double-figures against the Bulldogs as well. The Colonels will need that toughness on the boards again on Thursday against Beechwood.
