Who wins this one?

Playing on a neutral site this time around. Cov Cath will have both Jack Davin and Michael Mayer, who they didn't have when the team met up on February 1st when the Tigers beat the Colonels in 49-48 on a shot at the buzzer in Fort Mitchell.

Tipoff is 7:00pm tonight at Holmes.

Catholic wins this one. They will come in with a fire to beat Beechwood, since they lost in Ft. Mitchell a couple weeks ago. Plus, they'll have Mayer, who is a big difference maker. I have Catholic by 10.

I like Covington Catholic in this one.

I'm smelling a CovCath beatdown with a big time statement win.

Wouldn't surprise me.

If that happens, it is more of a statement about Beechwood than Cov Cath.

How many times has Cov Cath won the district tournament?

I think this ends up being closer than people think. Close game throughout until the 4th. Cov Cath by 7.

Thank you for your post. Welcome to BGP.

Colonels by 13, too much inside game.

I don't know if anyone has that info handy. The KHSAA has a list of all the regional winners HERE, but that would take a good bit of digging to come up with a complete listing of district wins for a specific program. I checked the KHSAA site, and this is what they have listed for the years they have recorded on their scoreboard:

District 35 Champions

2018 - Covington Catholic beat Covington Holy Cross 87-61

2017 - Covington Catholic beat Covington Holy Cross 62-35

2016 - Covington Catholic beat Covington Holy Cross 62-41

2015 - Covington Catholic beat Holmes 80-53

2014 - Holmes beat Covington Catholic 72-62 (2OT)

2013 - Covington Catholic beat Holmes 73-72

2012 - Holmes beat Covington Catholic 48-34

2011 - Holmes beat Covington Catholic 64-52

2010 - Holmes beat Covington Catholic 57-43

2009 - Holmes beat Beechwood 64-43

2008 - Holmes beat Covington Catholic 72-65 (OT)

2007 - Covington Catholic beat Holmes 53-50

2006 - Covington Catholic beat Holmes 66-47

2005 - Covington Catholic beat Holmes 71-70

2004 - Covington Catholic beat Covington Holy Cross 62-44

2003 - Holmes beat Covington Catholic 61-59

2002 - Covington Catholic beat Holmes 68-55

2001 - Covington Catholic beat Holmes 64-51

2000 - Holmes beat Covington Catholic 55-49

1999 - Covington Catholic beat Covington Holy Cross 46-34

1998 - Holmes beat Covington Catholic 58-56

Beechwood won their only district title in 1949. I do not know who they defeated that year, but I know two things, it was not Covington Catholic and the answer is in my copy of the Encyclopedia of Kentucky High School Basketball.
