Is Saint Mary’s one of those consolidated teams ? Are they in Jefferson county ky ? I only ask because for several years we had two teams from southern Indiana play in CSAA.

After seeing the Saint X freshmen practicing, and the Trinity frosh practicing, it looks like Saint X cleaned Trinity’s clock when it came to freshmen talent. This look test can be deceptive and things are best settled on the field. In this case i don’t think so. Saint Xavier has some real talent on this freshmen team, and they are bigger than Trinity as well.

I believe LaBradford had a son play at Ballard. What is this son’s name, and where does he play ball now.

I am not making myself clear. I apologize. If the parents live off base, but work on base their children should have the option to play for Fort Knox. That was the old rule. The new rule states the parents must live on base for their children to attend Fort Knox.if they work on base but live off base say in E Town then the kids go to the E Town schools.

These students should have the option of playing for Fort Knox if their parent or parents are stationed at the base. There should be an exception to the present rule.

I am speaking in terms of the rivalry game only.

When you take a storied football program like X has, and then you look at the miserable results they have endured against their rival over the last 15 years you knew things were bound to swing back in Saint Xavier’s favor. With the new coaching staff coming in, and a new optimistic attitude present, Saint X once again are getting The type of freshmen they have been missing out on for the last several years. For the last two out of 4 years Saint Xavier has won most of the talented freshmen.with a victory over Trinity this year in the varsity game this will only enhance the Tigers chances to gain the advantage over Trinity when it comes to persuading 8th graders to come the Tiger’s way. There is a complacency that comes with dominance. I think Trinity is suffering from that right now. There have been few improvements to the Trinity physical structures for some years now. Now, take a look at the athletic facilities offered at Saint Xavier. If you are an 8th grader you decide where you would rather be.

The above mentioned Northern Kentucky teams should have contacted Trinity, Saint Xavier, and Male H S for frosh games. You want to take a measure of your frosh team, then there you go.

Where are the fathers in this decision making process. We have become a matriarchal society, raising a bunch of wimps.

Tigerpride94’ i agree with each of your points. Back in the 50’s and 60’s each parish fielded a football team. Now with all the negative publicity pertaining to the head trauma issue the mom’s are putting their foot down. Unless the safety issue can be solved, we might be seeing the beginning of the end of high school football. The decrease in numbers is alarming.

Trinity players have never done well for the most part at Ohio State, or Michigan. Stanford is a great school right up there with the Ivy League schools in academics and a contender each year for a conference championship in football. His problem will be homesickness.

Saint X has numbers 10-12. Where the numbers are off for the Tigers is their freshmen team. Around 70 players. That is a little off. X at that level produces 100-125 players per year. Trinity at the 9th grade level is normal at around 65-80 players a year. The exception was the late 80’s and early 90’s when Trinity had 9th grade teams exceeding 100 players.

Some of you knowledgeable F D fans tell me how a relative new school got so blessed with so much football talent ? It usually takes 8-10 years for a new school to make a mark. F D arrived on the scene ready to rock and roll.

Hope Trinity goes with the junior quarterback. He has the size to weather Trinity’s big time schedule. The senior is way small. Something like five foot six.will not be able to see down field. He would make a good defensive back.

Back in the day, there was nothing to compare to the Male vs Manual game on turkey Day. Girls in fancy dressses,young men in sport coats and ties. This game dwarfed any other game including the Flaget vs Saint Xavier game.

There is an old saying “his eyes are bigger than his stomach” I think we might have a case of that here.

I used to love the old DeSales Colts uniforms when they modeled the old Baltimore Colts uniform. They should go back to the horseshoe logo on their helmet.

What a great hire. Watch DeSales really take off similar to Trinity when they hired Szabo. This hire will also give DeSales a boast in numbers. Who wouldn’t want to play for this coach. They have the right guy in basketball, and the right guy in football.

Ballard always fails to live up to the pre season hype. I am sure this year will be no different.
