Shocker !

It would always come down to Saint X or Trinity. All the other private schools several rungs lower on the ladder. We are not Cincinnati who has an abundance of private schools who play at the highest level. Or Nashville who has many private schools competing at a very high level.we might cobble together Trinity, Saint Xavier, Covington Catholic, Lexington Catholic, in a few more years, maybe DeSales, and Christian Academy.

This rumor has me upset once again. My feelings have nor changed. I guess i am swimming against the current.

Heard he was heading to Trinity high school in Louisville.

Everyone knows that. It is our favorite Hoosier.

Would love to know the backstory on why 4 returning players decided not to play this year. Especially the two returning starters.

For me, it was DeSales not winning the state championship. I thought for sure this was their year. What coach Davis has accomplished since taking over the football program is remarkable. I which DeSales was that viable for championships when my son and some of his friends were selecting their high school of choice.

Are there many Trinity fans with the team.

Trinity needs to make a statement, no senior to be transfers. It would suit me to say no transfers after their sophomore year, or during their junior year.

Lots of players transfer out of Trinity to schools such as Ballard, and Waggoner. Most of the time they are that team’s best player or players. DeSales high school’s best basketball player is a Trinity transfer. The door swings both ways.

It is my personal feeling having a son graduate from Trinity,that no transfers be allowed beyond the sophomore year. Having paid four years of tuition for a diploma from Trinity i resent the fact someone can transfer in for one year and earn the same designation. There would be rare exceptions to the rule, but those should be heavily scrutinized.

I do not think he would give up his job at DeSales, but a coach not mentioned and should be is Harold Davis. What he has accomplished in his short stint at DeSales is remarkable.

What in the world is going on with the Mercy basketball program. They are definitely not living up to pre season expectations.

I just wish Trinity had gotten Rondale Moore out to run the point guard spot, and if they could have gotten DeSales best player not to transfer. Weining would have given them a little more size under the basket.

Roundsteak, you are so right. I remember those years in the 80’s and 90’s when the Saint Xavier fans were up in arms for the administration to fire coach Glaser. Then he won a couple of championships and the X fans put away their pitchforks and nooses for a long period. Coach Glaser deserved better than he got from the administration.

Okie1, no shortage of cash at Saint Xavier high school. In the past, they have loosened up on their lofty ideals to attract the right players to beat Trinity. It will happen again this time as well. I have seen the same thing in the past when Trinity started to dominate the football series.

No way coach Wolfe went anything like 8-0 against Trinity and Saint X.

Tigercat, i beilive Coach Glaser, over the five year coaching span of coach Wolford’s would have won two state championships.

If coach Ty were to get the job, he would bring along his son, a very good football and an even better baseball player.

They have a great point guard walking the halls at Trinity. Rondale Moore. He played on the New Albany high school’s state championship team. Add to that the young man who transferred to DeSales and you got another state championship lock.

Still a terrible winning percentage when you consider a mediocre schedule at best. Their resources and talent level each year, and the coaching talent available at this school. I have seen this all before. Saint X will adjust their focus once again and put it back on the football program and in a short period of time they will be on an equal footing with Trinity. I am surprised they have let the imbalance go this long.

I hope this fine young man goes to Purdue and plays for a great coach and gentleman.

Roundsteak, the big monied interests at Saint Xavier call the tune like they always have. How in the world do you think they ended up with Wolford to begin with. His record in 5 years, just above the .500 mark.pitiful when you think of their resources and talent level each year. If coach Glaser was still coaching over that same five year span, i believe Mike would have added 2 more state championships over that period.

I have no idea what the religious criteria is, if any, but has Saint Xavier ever had a non Catholic head coach ? I can not think of one if they have. Trinity had Dennis Lampley a practicing Protestant, and i don’t believe the current Trinity coach is catholic. This approach of Trinity’s sure opens things up to a lot more when it comes to hiring the best man for the job.
