I preface this by saying I don’t think it would ever happen. But, there is a way where you could elevate schedule hassles by playing everyone in the region once (can opt out IE KSD). Use RPI or W/L to seed Super Regional Tournament. High Seed hosts 1st Round and then move to Neutral site like the region tournament now. I would think this would help majority of the schools with scheduling on yearly basis.

15th piloted the Super Region, and a champion came out of the “play back in” portion. I think most regions would for it at this point. I see both sides, where the ultra important semifinals create a tension that can’t be matched in a one and done scenario. But, I do think you are more likely to get the best 8 teams most years with Super format.

The refs apparently misapplied the ruling when they did not make him leave the bench after the ejection. Hence, nullifying the ejection.

My observation of Powell, since I've seen them twice at the JAB Winter Classic. Extremely talented bunch, but not very cohesive right now. The coach is trying to play a lot of players, and probably needs to shrink their rotation IMO. Morguson and Edwards are talented offensive players.

Results from Somerset's JAB Winter Classic Today: Pulaski Co. 64-58 over Bullitt East Somerset 78-77 over Powell Co. in Overtime This was a really competitive classic, with the 12th region going 4-0.

That is a good showing by Lincoln IMO. Bell is considered to be Co-Favorite in the 13th region with North Laurel.

Pulaski opens with Madison Central and Lou. Eastern. Somerset is playing Powell Co, Bullit East, @ Adair Co. @ Corbin @ Clinton Co. All teams that could win their region. Pretty good schedule for both of them.

So, why didn’t they have offsetting unsportsmanlike penalties? Boyle’s coach came flying out to midfield as well. Just bad all the way around.

Harlan Co. defeated Lincoln Co. 60-46 in their scrimmage. Looks like Lane Sergant led the Patriots with 17 PTs.

I believe the Somerset Christian Cougars picked up a scrimmage win against Nicholas Co. yesterday (rated fairly high in the 10th region). The Cougars will be a team to keep an eye on. They return a SR. Backcourt of Jack Baker and Isiah Hensley, and ultra athletic Omari Harvey is back from an injury that derailed their season last year. Remember, this team defeated Wayne Co. and Southwestern in Jan. The 48th district is the most balanced one in the whole region.

I saw a report Bourbon Co. may have defeated West Jessamine today by 10. Maybe some people from the North can help report on that. Lincoln Co. was scrimmaging @ Clay Co. today but haven’t heard anything from that.

Somerset defeated Sayre out of Lexington today by 15. Kole Grundy was @ a USA Baseball event. Football players were out as well. Absher led the charge with 30 points.

Coach Gaither filed a defamation lawsuit against two sets of parents back in June. The parents have filed counterclaims. Several accusations flying from both sides. No clarity in the article about the school's position or why they placed Coach Gaither on suspended leave with pay.

Tough job with the acceleration of Franklin Co. program. Someone would need to do a similar turn around job that Stonebraker did for Danville this year. He was aided by a really strong FR. class coming in.

Danville’s competitive spirit to stay/be in this game really impressed me. I thought they were a year away from being in this kind of game.

Who has the streaming information for this one?

I think Danville's strength (rushing attack) is counteracted by Somerset's strength (dominate DLine). I don't see the Ads moving the football on the Jumpers. Somerset by 3+ scores.

Bell Co. has also added a 6"8 2027 Center Gavin Burton from TN. They will have a massive front line with him and Buell.

People in the know could clarify this more, but I do believe they endured some key injuries as well. At most high schools, that impacts the W/L greatly. The next man up isn't always the answer to winning ball games.

I know somebody will pull the stats on the 1V4 games from last season. I would love to see avg. margin of victory.
