  1. 12th Region Coaches Association All Region Team: Aedyn Absher, Somerset Leek Ateny, DCA Cash Baird, Lincoln Co. Walker Craig, Rock Seneca Driver, Boyle Co. Seth Farmer, Wayne Co. Carson Fraley, Pulaski Co. Peyton Higgonbotham, McCreary Central Zach Hutchinson, Southwestern Ben Mikels, DCA Sam Montgomery, Garrard Co. Gavin Murphy, West Jessamine Kendall Phillips, Wayne Co. Sawyer Robbins, Lincoln Co. Good list of players. The one snub that stands out to me is Kole Grundy of Somerset. I thought he deserved a spot, but all these players are deserving.
  2. Pulaski hammered Lincoln last night. The 47th is consistently underrated every year, and has 3 of the top 5 teams in the region right now.
  3. Agree, however I think Wayne is pretty safe. SCS has really tailed off the last month. Capable, but unlikely. Garrard and Rock are in very sim. positions IMO, both are SR heavy and have to get over a mental hurdle against a more tradition rich program in an elimination game. That's the game within the game in-between the ears.
  4. Oh I know, but good talking points. That's the whole point of the board ?.
  5. What about Somerset going there and being right in the game without their 2nd Leading scorer/Leading Rebounder/Best Perimeter defender in Kole Grundy. Grundy would've been tasked with Phillips. Taking nothing away from Wayne Co, but that's a big absence for Somerset. I think there is an argument for DCA to be 3rd @ this moment. They have been skating by their district opponents the last few weeks, and is the 45th that strong this year? I think all those teams have question marks, but capable on any given night. Casey Co. is streaming the whole 47th District tournament, so it should be on Hudl Fan.
  6. The Courier Journal rankings, have the 12th as follows: 1) DCA, 2) Wayne Co., 3) Somerset, 4) Pulaski Co. and 5) Rockcastle Co. Can't wait for that 47th District Semifinal next week! It will be epic.
  7. He was always a quality player coming up in the system at Mercer Co. I was wondering why he wasn't getting much run too. Boyle has a lot of the same player. Their 4 position is over packed with guys.
  8. Definitely agree with this. If they can figure out the mins, and get buy in.
  9. Is DCA in trouble in their semifinal game? They been getting just by in their recent district games. Danville at home or Lincoln Co. could absolutely clip them next week IMO.
  10. Hopefully Webb can get back. Really solid kid and player, that comes from a great family!
  11. Wayne held home court against the 2 other top teams in region. Their home court environment is pretty elite. Will be interesting to see these matchups on a neutral court if they happen.
  12. DCA late game offense is let Ateny bail them out in a hard ISO attack or contested deep 3. Wayne did a nice job on him defensively with Farmer and Phillips.
  13. I continue to be impressed with Rhylan Morgan PG play. He’s playing really well.
  14. The Cards win at home between two of the best in the region.
  15. I believe there’s is Cardinal TV on YouTube, and may even stream on their Facebook as well.
  16. Latest stat reporting has them leading the state in scoring. They just need to make sure they dive into improving defensively down the stretch.
  17. I've been in the Powell camp all season. I think hosting the tournament is huge for them as well. Morguson and Edwards can really get it going.
  18. I mimic those thoughts after watching the other night, and several other games. No set actions for Driver to get a block touch at all. GC is limited on the interior with Montgomery serving as a small 5. They should try to punish them inside.
  19. I’ll lean Caverna. But, North is playing good ball right now.
  20. If Ateny had been at DCA since 7th grade playing, he would probably be well over 4,000 points and who knows how many rebounds and blocks. As for Absher, he was a late bloomer and has progressively increased his role and gotten better every season.
  21. Him and Absher stats are almost identical across the board this year. But I agree, I think the coaches will vote his way and Ateny won't get many votes.
  22. Phillips is a great player and seems like a great young man too. But, if we're talking career accolades other than stats and include winning (tournament success) what exactly have they done? Have they won a regional tournament game since he's been in HS? Just curious, because I know Ateny and Absher have impacted and led teams to postseason success...
  23. They didn't shoot it great early in the season, but the 3 PT percentage has bumped up to over 34% to speak to your point.
  24. SHS vs. Pulaski last year was rauckus.
  25. Good call on Bryce. He had a good career at Alice Lloyd as a sharp shooter in college. Owen Wheeler and Pittman seem to be potential guys like that. Wheeler played well last night. Made several 3s.
