  1. Taylor Gover, Al's nephew has really provided a presence on the bench this year assisting. Taylor was a great HS player at Pulaski Co. and had a good college career at The University of the Cumberlands.
  2. Slow paced. SCS did a good job defending Phillips and Farmer. Phillips, if you no catch him is one dimensional player as a shooter. What surprised me, was Wayne didn't extend the floor and create some tempo change. SCS doesn't have great ball handling collectively, but if you let them get into their set actions they can hurt you. Also, Harvey did a great job on the interior against Farmer.
  3. Coach Fraley has never missed the region tournament since taking over at Pulaski Co. Credit to Rock, they played like the seasoned team and made the plays down the stretch. Outside of Carson Fraley, PC is a very young team and it showed in the 2nd half.
  4. Hearing Jack Baker played with a banged up foot too. Which, makes the win even more impressive for SCS.
  5. Big win for the Rock! Big time matchup with Somerset Thursday night in Liberty!
  6. Big win for the Cougars! Dangerous team with capable starting 5. I believe Southwestern will overwhelm them with size though.
  7. Looks like it’ll be Blue Blood Lincoln vs New Blood Danville Christian in an elimination game Wed. Night.
  8. They've shot it well for the majority of the season.
  9. I wouldn't be surprised with the history of the series. Also, Coach Fraley has a proven track record this time of year. Carson Fraley could control the game with his playmaking, and they're very capable shooting the basketball. Rock has to step up and win one of these types of games, and they've yet to do it.
  10. Yes, there are four of the semifinals I could see going either way. A lot of upstart teams looking to push through to the regional tournament this season. Their time is now to breakthrough. I gave McCreary the edge playing at home, but I could easily see Southwestern size being too much for them once again.
  11. I’ll take my shot at picking the 8 to represent at the region: 45th- Danville Christian and Boyle Co. 46th- West Jessamine and East Jessamine 47th- Somerset and Rockcastle Co. (Torn on this one, but I think it’s due) 48th- Wayne Co. and McCreary Central
  12. Head Coach is the main voice with a lead assistant that is focused on the Varsity team as well. In a perfect world, the assistant counter balancing the head coach strength. So, if head coach is an offensive guy then a strong defensive coach. Then, need two guys that are focused on the young levels and feeder while also providing support in the scouting department for Varsity.
  13. Is Coach High one and done here? I know a very difficult situation stepping in so late.
  14. Who are the other teams in this district for these teams to facing off in the Semis?
  15. From the 12th Region: 47th District- Pulaski (#4 RPI) vs. Rockcastle Co. (#5 RPI) 45th District- Danville/Lincoln Winner vs. Danville Christian 45th District- Boyle (#8 RPI) vs. Garrard (#12 RPI) 48th District- Southwestern (#7 RPI) @ McCreary Central (#13th) My guess is all of these games are played in a few possessions window.
  16. Absher goes for 41 tonight (efficiently) in a 61-53 SR. night win over Southwestern to move the Jumpers to 20-6 to finish the regular season.
  17. I'll note Absher is the only player that doesn't have another "All Region Guy" on his team. Ateny has Mikels, and Phillips has Farmer. Craig doesn't have another one on his team either.
  18. Oh no doubt. It's the 11th, outside of a few teams that will be in everyone is capable.
  19. Agree, it is well deserved. This was an abnormal year where multiple guys were well deserving. Most seasons in this region there is a clear cut guy. It's apples to apples. Personally, I would rank them: 1) Ateny (DCA), 2) Absher (SHS), 3) Phillips (Wayne) and 4) Craig (Rock). I think the career stuff probably won out for Phillips, and leaving Wayne Co. as all-time leading scorer is impressive.
  20. Kendall Phillips of Wayne Co. announced as KABC 12th Region Player of the Year.
  21. What DCA has done the past few nights beating Catholic and pushing Bryan Station to the limits, should give the 12th Region some hope for their matchup in a few weeks at Rupp. Although, I think Madison Central and Frederick Douglass are just a cut above the other teams in the 11th.
  22. Good call on Landen. What a drastic improvement this season. He has really played good ball. With Peters kid coming back, they could be dangerous next week @ home!
  23. Defensively, they have struggled. With George, Gilbert and Blakey inside scoring is typically not been the issue. Not very deep either outside of those 3 guys.
  24. Statement win. I believe it was at Adair too.
  25. Best defender as well. He has guarded several on the list, and has held his own.
