A Highlands thread NOT about the coaches

Skepticism is fine, but it doesn’t change what the goal/expectations are. -

Absolutely those are the expectations. This is a different team than you have seen the last two years. -

People have talked oline on here. Again, Johnson and salmon will be solid and the top seniors returning with experience. Turner and Huber will be the the top juniors. Beyond that, some guys are going to need to step up. -

Two guys who will be Critical are Dylan Turner and Brock Huber. Trent and salmon should be solid on oline, but the team will NEED these two to step up in the off season. I know Huber has battled injury all year. Let’s hope his body gets right this summer. -

Any chance huddy goes in the backfield and they run a 2 back set??? huddy and Schwalbach back there together with king, ahfeld, and Roberts at WR... good luck to the D against that one. -

The D line should be very solid with Sisson and Lewin returning as impact players. Look for Dierig, Zell, Downard to all be in the rotation. I would save Salmon for O line. They NEED his consistency and skill there. The LB core returns (i think) 7 guys who started at some point last year. Hudy, Bowman, Starkey, and Delgrange is going to be a VERY athletic group to get past. Armstrong, Brass, and Greene will all be returning starters in the secondary. Cramer at QB will be as good as anybody in NKY with a HUGE arm. This will be the biggest receiving core you've seen at HHS in a while. Roberts, King, and Ahfeld are not the typical short quick receivers you expect to see with the birds. They are big strong and athletic. Nate Roberts is as tough after the catch as anybody. King is just Mr. consistency with great hands, and Ahfeld will be the sleeper who catches people by surprise (if you haven't seen him before). For those who talk about the "sacrifice" players don't make anymore, Ahfeld is a CRAZY athlete who went to safety last year because that's where the team needed him... These young birds are LOADED with talent and have the work ethic to go along with it. -
I’m personally very excited about the upcoming season. A ton of talent coming back and hopefully the injury bug from last year won’t carry over. Who are you looking forward to seeing? We all know Cramer, Schwalbach and Hudy will be studs, but who do you think will step up or surprise people.

I don’t know any who will be better than Cramer at highlands in nky. -
This is the dumbest question ever addressed. Yes, they absolutely should play up. The answer isn’t dropping class. It’s getting better. This team knows that! And they are up for the challenge. You wonder why kids are soft these days, it’s because the parents make decisions for them like telling them to back down when you get beat! Strive for excellence. Do what it takes to achieve it and let the chips fall where they may. I have no doubt this team will be fine in 5A and back to being a top team in NKY.

Bluebird Rising: Improving the Run Defense
2020BirdDad replied to PsalmsG's topic in KY Football (High School)
The D will be the strength of the upcoming team. Replacing Steiden in the secondary will be tough, but look for the front 8 to be nasty with a combination of size, speed, and great athleticism. Lead by bowman and Huddleston in the middle, these birds will not be arm tacklers. -

Yes, Mayer (cch), Huddleston (hhs), and Kyle England (Ryle) are elite talent out of that sophomore class. They will all 3 have major interest from D1 schools. Mayer obviously had more eyeballs on him this year because of the teams incredible success. Huddleston was out half the year due to injury and Ryle had chiz to carry a lot of the load. Keep an eye on all 3 of those next year as juniors. They are all a special talent and it’s great for NKY football.

Highlands retains Brian Weinrich as Head Football Coach

Open enrollment policy has to do with room of the class size/classrooms, not football. The elementary schools have been most likely to change because of their overcrowding. Have you been in any of them in the Past 5-10 years?
