  1. In the last 20 meetings, its 17-3... glad to see cch back because it wasn't much of a rivalry anymore. Football is at its best when there is good competition between powers. This year, cch has more more and is the favorite, but both programs have a ton of talent coming up. The rivalry is back and that is great news for both sets of fans.
  2. Going to be a Great game. A critical late turnover is the difference in this tight one.
  3. A huge statement win. Great play on D. Many contributors, but I counted 11 tackles, a sack, and a tackle for a 5 yard loss by Huddleston. Not a bad first game for a sophomore! Please, please, please get Nate Roberts more involved in the offense. 1 target, 1 catch for a td breaking multiple tackles. The kid is a stud!
  4. Are you serious, you don't think Wilson makes a difference??? Against sk, Wilson had 170 yards on 21 carries. The other backs had 50 yards on the same amount af carries. One player can make a HUGE difference. And when schwalbach comes back he'll make an even bigger difference. Every piece adds up. Sorry, I'm just a guy who watches the games but is not "in the know".
  5. One guy doesn't make a bad team great, but one guy can certainly make a team better... especially when they have a skill that has been dramatically lacking (like a solid tackler at the linebacker position). Take the SK game for example, was HHS a "better" team when Wilson was in the game? Absolutely!! The impact One guy has can make a big difference.
  6. Looking forward to see #1 in the starting lineup for the first time after being sidelined for nearly 15 weeks.. HHS has been gashed in the running game primarily by missing tackles and going for strips instead of wrapping up.. Huddleston is young but has GREAT fundamentals and instincts. I'm Anxious to see if he can finish plays others filling in couldn't.
  7. Ryle will handle SK (dare I say comfortably). But I wouldn't compare the HHS scores. Ryle faced the most injured team I have ever seen for the birds. At a few times, there were 5 sophomores, 5 juniors and 1 senior playing D... They had several key guys back for SK (although still a few were out).
  8. Birds win big in a statement game after a much needed week off to tweak some of their schematic changes. I hear a young bird will be making his 2017 debut in this one.
  9. Here is the truth... BOTH teams are loaded with talent coming up for the next 4-5 years and it's going to be a GREAT rivalry for the next several years (this is Cov Cath's year though). That's a win for NKY football. Nothing better than when the top 2 teams are stacked. What I DON'T like about the trend of CCH wins as a birds fan is the confidence it gives young players. They know they can win, and that swag shows up in future years.
  10. Forget the fights, I would hate to be the dad who has to get a ride to the ER because his kid got hurt and he's been drinking at the game.
  11. By team, I was referring to the JV team. And yes, no question they are the best two athletes dressing JV.
  12. Can someone please tell me why the best athletes on HHS team by far (hall and Ahfeld) don't get a single snap on offense. Not to mention, hall would be the best linebacker on the varsity team... put the right kids in the right position to be successful.
  13. I have seen SK, trinity and Scott county play... SK is not even in the same league. More like top 6-8.
  14. Nope. That's talent evaluation. Put the right kids in the right position to be successful.
  15. Why keep multiple running backs when you can have 25 receivers with 21 of them sitting on the sideline the whole game. Who is getting opportunities and who is sitting on the sideline or playing out of position is amazing to me.
  16. To bring out the best football in NKY, Ryle, SK, Highlands, and Cov Cath should all play each other EVERY year.
  17. Would love to see Johnson and Dunn on dline and Lewin and Hall at LB. size where it's needed and hard hitting guys with speed at LB...
  18. To your point of "Just wrap up". Do the birds D coaches teach this, or do they instruct to try to strip the ball? I am asking this in all seriousness. I am amazed at the number of players it takes to bring down a guy because three defenders are going for a strip instead of wrapping up a guy.. curious if this is the players doing it or if it is actually the coaching philosophy. how often and how do they practice tackling?
  19. Sk by 28... I think shearer has been waiting for this moment for 4 years. Birds have progressively looked worse each week and staff haven't been willing to make the changes necessary to be successful until this point. No reason to think it will happen this game.
