Locations for state final games

Featured Replies

As I am setting here getting ready to watch the Danville/Mayfield game, I have to take notice of the crowd, or lack of for this game. With no disrespect meant. Does anyone else think the games(all over the nation not just in Kentucky) that the games could be in bigger high school stadiums, that could more then handle the crowd? That way ticket prices would go back to normal as well as parking and concessions?

I thought UK did a great job with the games. I wasn’t bothered by the ticket prices, parking was free and easily accessible getting in and out and the concession prices didn’t bother me either. To be honest, I think and feel like anyone complaining is just looking for a reason to complain.

As for the lack of crowd at the Danville/Mayfield game....both of those schools are 2A schools so that has to be taken into equation when looking at the crowd size. Also, as big as Kroger Field is it is going to look empty regardless of the crowd size. I’m thinking this year’s state finals had one of the higher attendance numbers in quite some time.

What schools in the state have the largest capacity?

UK was the best place I’ve wayched a finals at.

Personally I loved it there. It helps that I live 45 minutes away and lived in Lexington for 9 years so I am very familiar with the city. Every other state has it in a large ncaa or nfl stadium as well so I see no issue.

Uk was a great venue. Attendance this year was at the top of all time.

I agree that UK was a great venue. One suggestion would be to cut the price of the home-side reserved chairback seats. $30 is ridiculous IMO. Glad we were on the visitors side this year.

Even a vintage T/X crowd of 25,000+ wouldn't come close to filling Kroger Field.

Brother, it is good to have you back! I was afraid you'd left for good. You're one of my favorite posters here and I always enjoy your insight. Your presence was sorely missed during football season.

Thanks homey! It’s good to be back.

Kroger field was great. I believe finals will be there for a long time.

I loved having it in Lexington and I got over to see three games.

My only complaint is having to pay $12.00 for a Coke and a large popcorn. Someone ought be be arrested for that kind of gouging. Criminal.
