I have Boyle ranked 5, but there isn't another team in the state that scares me as much as them in a matchup vs. Cov Cath.

Makes more sense for a NKY team like Cov Cath to schedule a GCL school than a Louisville school. Cov Cath has the best win in the state this year beating La Salle who many would argue is better than any team in Louisville this year.

Are we comparing Smith's rec yards from Lorenzen to Mayer's rec yards from Jacob?

As a Cov Cath fan, the hypothetical Boyle vs. Cov Cath match to me would be a fun one. My fear would be that Lanter and is a VERY good high school QB with quite a few solid weapons including Smith and Bartleson. The Lex Cath game scares me with what Allen was able to do with less weapons. This CCH team is much different than it was back in early September, and I think that the rush D would be something Boyle has yet to see. I think CCH would be able to move the ball pretty well with our balanced attack and our height advantage with our recievers. I think this hypothetical matchup has all the makings of an instant classic. The homer in me would still take Cov Cath by a touchdown on a neutral field. Cov Cath 31 Boyle 24

What are the keys to the game offensively and defensively for each team? I have watch a little bit of FD but much more of CCH. I would say for CCH offensively the key to the game is which Caleb shows up. If he plays anything like he did BG, the colonels should definitely have a chance to win the game. Defensively I think they need to keep the ball in front of them and avoid giving up the big plays. If the pass defense is able to limit FD I believe the rush D will continue its dominance. Based on the limited amount I have watched FD I think offensively the key will be protecting the QB with that stout OLine and giving him time to go through his progressions and find the open receiver. I could be wrong, but I don’t think a heavy workload running the ball is going to work in this game. Defensively I believe the key will be to get to the QB early and often. If they are able to take away some of Calebs confidence and make him question his reads it could be a long night for the colonels. What say you?

Another game to keep an eye on is at Male 2/15. Depending on the draw (and a lot of other things), this could be a potential look at the eventual championship game.

I think program background is important as well as knowing where the team was at the beginning of the 6 years and where they are now. Hard saying a coach should be fired without knowing he took over a program that is a consistent contender or a project. I know that is probably to much information to give in this exercise, but I made my votes based on all teams being mediocre programs with the ability to get better.

Elder was definitely the toughest place I played. Having family from there made it even more difficult. Would have loved for their goal posts to be a little bit taller. Highlands comes in as a close 2nd. Having the fans right on your back when you are on the visiting sidelines and the unique placement of the field definitely make it one of the coolest places to watch a game.

Welcome to BGP. Questioning @PP1 credibility when he clearly stated the conditions his rankings are on, and can only pick 10 players, is probably why you got the dislikes. I question your credibility when you claim Jefferson is "one of the top players in the state" and then "one of the best WRs". Not a shot at Jefferson, but what does "one of the best consist of? Top 3? Top 5? Top 10? I can easily name 10 players in the state ranked higher in basketball and just as easily name 10 WRs. Again, no disrespect to Jefferson, but your credibility comes in to questions when you throw words around like that.

Thought for sure Huddy would play both ways in this game especially with it being a close one. Maybe they are saving him for the playoffs?

I completely agree with you and I think Boyle is having a very special season. I think it is an interesting hypothetical just as I did 2 years ago for Cov Cath, but that hypothetical was shot down as if it were an insane thought. This wasn’t a shot at Boyle, more at the people who want to shut down the conversation right from the get go.
