4A #7 Hopkinsville vs. 2A #5 Mayfield
I don't know. This game used to be a blood bath back in the 90's. Glad to see the two schools playing again. I think Mayfield will win, but not a running clock.

Hopkinsville 17 McCracken County 0 (Scrimmage)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't McCracken turn around and beat Owensboro who beat Hoptown 2-0 in the same night? Hard to base the season (way down) on one night of scrimmages that lasted a half of football with no live special teams. Let's see how Friday night goes.

No more crack blocks!! Is football getting too soft?
So what's the alternative? Ease up and allow the defender to make the tackle? Because you know as I know if you extend your arms and hands, it's going to be deemed a hold as soon as that defender turns...sounds like a catch 22 to me.

McCracken County 2017
Correct but those were still the previous staffs team...so I don't place that all on Clark which is why I stated inherited. When jones took over with Claytons guys he won 9 games after that 7 then no more than 3 until he departure. Rather you like it or not Clark righted that ship and brought them back to competition regardless of the class. Don't forget to throw Christian, Marshall, Murray, Graves, and madisonville in with those wins.

Football Playoff Pairings: Name That Year
No sir. That was 97. Think Hopkinsville lost to BG in 95, highlands was either in 96 or 97, can't remember which one. Cov Cath was one of those losses both at state, no blowouts.

Football Playoff Pairings: Name That Year
Isn't 95 the yr Hopkinsville beat Leslie county like a drum?

As a defender you just gave me the upper hand. Most of the time excluding special teams, you're cracking a LB or a DE. Both who usually weigh more than the man doing the cracking. Ain't no way I'm going to be understanding to a LB getting shielded by a WR. I'm sorry not going to happen.

McCracken County 2017
Ok so I understand your Opinion on underachieving and recruiting size. But you obviously haven't walked down those hallways because there's not much size. When your best two players are debating quitting every year to focus on basketball, still playing AAu after July 22, and basically never catch back up afterwards creates some problems. As for bud Hudson I know for a fact that both head coaches tried to orchestrate clinics to educate bud Hudson coaches and Clark was routinely at the games on Saturday. Don't know how much more involved you want them to be.

McCracken County 2017
People seem to forget that Clark inherited a 0 win team when he took over. I believe he lost to South Warren twice in the playoffs, not to mention fighting the basketball culture at Hopkinsville. I for one think he did a great job at Hopkinsville. I also think he's going to excel at McCracken.

Outside of QB, What is the Most Important Position?
Interior linemen. Rather it be offensive or defensive. If you can't control the trenches you can't control the game.

It's football time in the Bluegrass !!!!!
How many Highschools have their entire team during offseason workouts like colleges?? Why not cut down the amount of time for basketball or baseball to give the kids "their summer"? Majority of the kids I know can't wait till July 10. Competition with someone other than themselves. Let the kids play the sport they love as much as they want to.

Rondale Moore commits to Texas - Moore Decommits from Texas
With the crime rate sky rocketing in Louisville at this moment, can't blame the kid for going elsewhere.

Which Region Of Kentucky Produces The Best Football?
I remember Louisville central but who else?

Which Region Of Kentucky Produces The Best Football?
Just to add a lil bit more info. Since 2010 the west has represented at least 3 of the 6 classes at the state finals excluding 2013 and 2016 I believe.
-
Which Region Of Kentucky Produces The Best Football?
For the sake of argument I'd say the West. There are 6 classes now. I only see Jefferson county really owning one consistently.

Coaches Playoff Records
Craig Clayton 149-86 Hopkinsville 1st time 108-43 in Tennessee. Not sure of his play off percentage, know of at least 7 semi appearances and two final appearances while at Hopkinsville.

Christian County 2017
In order to improve Christian County has to beat Owensboro in the district and the BG team in region. In order to continue success the colonels need to continue to build depth on defense. Defense probably will start 10 SR's and one Junior, nine returning starters led by senior 6'4 safety Cory Trice. Offensively continuity is the key. Life without 4yr starter Purdue comitt Keyron Catlett starts. The colonels have a lot to be excited about. Kolby Langhi looks primed to have his best year yet at the QB position. SR WR Jaquan Long and a committee of young skilled positions are looking to fill the void left by Catlett. This is a special group.

Playoff structure question
So is 5A the only class that Two of the Districts don't cross bracket?

Football practice in June
Ok I see where you coming from. But what about those who play other sports that don't do travel ball or AAU? What about the kids that have had to work? Noticed I said June helps some. Not to mention the kids that are not camping that I frankly don't trust outta my sight for a month. I'm not saying June is a cure all. But I can teach you a proper stance to run in, tricks of the trade to improve your time. Work on Tech/Timing with my QB. Improve route running wr. No difference than the QB like Deshaun Watson going out to Cali for 1 week with a coach.

Football practice in June
Agree that there has to be a balance with time off. Absolutely don't want kids getting burnt out.

Football practice in June
Totally agree

Football practice in June
What do you mean? For instance if I plan to attend a senior day camp let's say two weeks from now, am I supposed to sit on my butt for two weeks then go perform?

Football practice in June
In response to your post...Not like I came out stating that if you don't practice in June then you will give up 48pts. You wanted to bring in rings and plays offs as it correlates to summer practice "an outlier of a comparison imo" so I mentioned the fact that the time off didn't help either. Because if what you do in June matters for rings then it should matter for giving up 48 to a team that turned around and got smoked by a team the practices in June. Ijs
