  1. Thank you purple88. I am a Hopkinsville Alum and a Christian County Homer I guess you could say. I have a brother who coaches and two nephews that play at county so you could my alliance it's twisted lol. Love your posts each week!
  2. Please excuse my ignorance, but could someone please educate me on what is included in aggregate stats.
  3. First and foremost, How Good Is Bowlingreen! Wow! But as far as this game goes...it was fun watching the one man show for County and the chess match that was going on between the Devils offense and the County Defense. It took the Colonels almost a half to adjust to the Devils which led to one of the most physical games I've seen. As a fan my only disappointment was the Colonel offense. At times it seemed like they where stuck in reverse, I get the weather but that's no excuse seeing that both teams had to deal with it. It is depressing watching The Colonels offense with the weapons they have be so ineffective.
  4. Lol now this is funny. Personally I think there is a shortage of quality refs. Maybe some guys retire or moved idk. But I've seen some new faces this year, I don't think those guys where ready for varsity action yet.
  5. I like how the initial question on this thread has been twisted to soothe the butt hurt of some obviously sensitive posters for officiating. But let me restate the question "is officiating down"...I wasn't talking about missed calls or bashing refs. I'm referring to wrong calls like confusing a 15yd personal foul with a 10yd penalty, not knowing were to spot the ball, not knowing how to signal rather or not the last man on the l.o.s is on or off. Hence why I say Yes officiating is down. Not bashing or saying I could do a better job, just saying it ain't what it used to be.
  6. So are you saying that officials are beyond reproach? So it's okay that you can call a game and make every penalty a personal foul? Officials are not volunteers they are being paid to do job. And furthermore if you are an official whom is unsure about a call then don't make that call! It's one thing to miss a call, but when it's ignorance to the rules it's unacceptable and needs to be addressed...When bad officiating costs you a game that ends up costing you your job...Just ask Les Miles
  7. Don't sleep on Hopkinsville...This team has speed every where, one of the best Athletes in the state at QB, and a solid defense. Only loss coming to Christisn County. Saw SW scrimmage County early(I know it was just a scrimmage) and wasn't impressed. Hopkinsville is a serious threat to be the best team in 4A...Only problem is wont find out until the play offs
  8. Because if the covered WR goes out on a route down field and the ball is thrown down field it's now an illegal formation...No different then a lineman down field on a forward pass.
  9. Must be talking about the numerous high low blocks against County defenders that weren't called, or the number of times Hoptown had linemen down field, or the fact the WR's kept covering each other up only to go out for a pass...IJS Hoptown loss. Maybe it's because Hoptown gave up a 95 yd kick return for a TD then rufused to kick the ball deep and instead chose to kick the ball out of bounds...field position is critical in a tight game...
  10. Ok...Officiating was about the same for both sides. Definitely was some holding calls missed, but if I recall correctly there weren't ANY holding calls made. The pass interference call, I agree again, but the exact same call was missed on County for a third down conversion on the previous drive. What I took from this game was that both teams have problems with their offensive lines. Hoptown's QB is electric and covers up some of their deficiencies. But you can't blame The coach for running the ball because he was starting to take some shots and a couple of those scramble passes should've been picked off but were dropped by the county defenders. Over all County wore Hoptown down in the second half. I think county only had one player going both ways consistently. If Hoptown had problems containing an non mobile Langhi then it could spell trouble for them in the playoffs. Fix that and your o-line then 4A better watch out. It's the same sad song for County that BG exposed...can your offense produce points and keep your defense off the field? Can your defense cut down on the big plays and be disciplined?
