Mayfield shutout Union City (TN) in week one, while Hopkinsville was eclipsed by South Warren, 35-14. Who emerges into the sunlight victorious this week?

I know everyone that is going to comment on this post is going to say it's going to be a close one but I think if we play like we did against UC then MF wins big 34-10.

I don't think Hopkinsville has much of a chance honestly. Mayfield 35-7.

If Johnson and Cager were still with the Hopkinsville football team this would be a huge game IMO.

I don't know. This game used to be a blood bath back in the 90's. Glad to see the two schools playing again. I think Mayfield will win, but not a running clock.

I suspect the Tigers learned some things last week against a very good S.Warren team and will make adjustments this week.. They'll be better this week.. Not sure if that results in a victory, but, I do expect them to play hard and make it a game.. Its hard to imagine Mayfield playing as well as they did last week, where everything they did worked like a charm.. If they do, it could get ugly, but, those games don't happen every week and being on the road against a team with its backs against the wall desperate to show that last week wasn't what they're about and this could be a dandy.. These teams have had some great games in the past and it's good to see them back on each others schedule.. I give the edge to the Cards, as Coach J and staff seem to be hitting all the right buttons and have a great feel for this team and thus far are playing in mid season form, while the Tigers are still trying to figure some things out.. The Hoptown secondary will have to find a way to contain all the Cardinals receiving weapons, which is not an easy chore.. I think the Cards will make too many big plays for the Tigers and I think the Card D will play well enough to contain the Tigers big plays.. M 33 H 14

Mayfield 36-14.

I bet this game won't start till 8:30 or so, since it's the second game of a doubleheader that starts at 5:30.

I know it has a 7:30 start but if there is a ton of passing in the first game it could take a while to complete and then you need 30 or more minutes for warm up for the 2nd game.

Mayfield easy.
