2A AP Poll
I know polls are just polls but one team to really watch is lca. I think they will be playing cal for the state championship this year.LCA defense has to improve a bit,but if LCA is going to get back to State this is the year they have to do it. They are very talented.

Belfry/Corbin: What Do You Think?
I think Belfry and Boyle are the 2 best teams in 3A with Central and Corbin right there. Any of those 4 teams could win it and don't forget the dark horse's e-town and Catholic. I just like Belfry and Boyle's defense a little better than everyone else's.

6A #1 Trinity vs. Champagnat Catholic (FL)
This game won't be close Trinity by at least 21. I feel for the team from Florida. I don't expect this game to happen next week from what I'm hearing from the inside.

2A #2 Danville at 3A Waggener
It is a treat to watch Brent's, again with 33 major division 1 offers he will be the quickest and best player on the field..High school football is at times like basketball its about match ups. It's a intriguing game for me because Waggener matches up well with Danville and there speed,we will agree to dis agree.
-
2A #2 Danville at 3A Waggener
Danville can't overlook Waggener, Waggener is a very fast team also and will have the fastest and best player on the field with Brents handling the ball 70 percent of the time(yes faster than Van Cleave) I think this is a very dangerous game for the Admirals. Waggeners problem is depth, they just wear down late. Danville will win but it could be closer than a lot of people will predict this week.

Boyle County 38 Wayne County 14
Impressive win for Boyle, especially the margin of victory. Wayne is a solid football team. I wasn't expecting to see that score!
-
3A #3 Elizabethtown at 2A #1 Christian Academy of Louisville
GCHS just my opinion on ETown and I could be very wrong on the game, but this year Etown doesn't have to compete with Belfry, Central, or Corbin unless it's in the championship due to the new bracketing. Etown,Catholic and Boyle are very equal at this point in that other side of the bracket. Let's see how it plays out in the next few weeks. This week I think we will good a good picture on Etowns side of the bracket with Lca and Catholic, cal and etown,Wayne and Boyle. I believe Wayne is the best team in that bunch.

3A #3 Elizabethtown at 2A #1 Christian Academy of Louisville
I agree I think Cal wins this game going away 38-21. Etown is a solid team but I don't think they will hang with Cal for 4 quarters.

6A #1 Trinity at #3 Male
Trinity has too much fire power for male this year. 46-14 Trinity in this one. Male is a bit down this year from where they have been the last few years.

2A #7 Newport Central Catholic vs. 3A #2 Belfry
Belfry cruises to a easy 44-13 win.

Danville 10 Boyle County 7
I made it down to watch,Danville is solid on defense and Thornton extended plays with his legs, he was running for his life every other play and stayed calm and completed crucial passes. Danville and Boyles Dline dominated the game for the most part. Both dlines were better than both offensive lines. Boyles young Qb looked very young and Thornton surprised me he is really good.I wouldn't be surprised to see both teams in Lexington come December. 2 really good teams. Glad I made the trip.Great kick for the win!

Class 3A vs. Class 2A Game of the Week: 3A Boyle County at 2A Danville
Dlineman, class of 2018.

Class 3A vs. Class 2A Game of the Week: 3A Boyle County at 2A Danville
La Blanc is a very good lineman that's has committed or signed with North Texas. He is 6"1 280. Plays for Frederick Douglas. He transferred in from Texas. His dad is with Uk.

Will Belfry rebound vs Bryan Station?
Belfry will have no problem in this game. Pirates by 4 touchdowns.

Class 3A vs. Class 2A Game of the Week: 3A Boyle County at 2A Danville
I dont have a dog in the fight but I know a little about football and talk to a lot of coaches I know or have coached with. Wireman made a good point if Boyle can contain Danville's speed which I stated earlier they have the personnel to do so Boyle will have a chance to win. I think a key for Danville success is if they can block Kelly and Paycheck up front. That is two of the top dlineman in the state and Danville won't see 2 that good the rest of the year. I have heard from other coaches they both have D1 interest. If Danville can block those two Boyle is soft on the short passing game and it will be a long night for the rebels. Adjustments will be a key part of the game. 2 Very talented teams, I'm driving down to watch!

6A #1 Trinity vs. Moeller (OH)
My Rocks I feel pulls this one out in a shootout 42-38. I believe this game may come down to a turnover or two for either side deciding the outcome.
-
Class 3A vs. Class 2A Game of the Week: 3A Boyle County at 2A Danville
Boyle for the first time in years will match Danville's speed on the field and I believe Boyles depth will be a factor in the second half. Boyle wins this one 34-17.
-
4A #2 Wayne County vs. 5A Pulaski County
2 good teams but I give the edge to Wayne in this one by a touchdown. I like what Wayne's coach does on defense and they will be tough to score on. This will be a good one. I plan on attending.

Boyle County 41 John Hardin 6
I went down and watched Boyle. This is what I came away from a old coaches perspective John Hardin had speed and athletes. Boyle had some FOOTBALL players with some speed and size. Boyles Oline played well, Boyle has some big kids up front along with Bramel and on defense the dline was dominant. The noseguard Kelly is very disruptive on defense, somebody in the booth said he had 13 tackles Smith and Bartelson in the secondary are really good. Smith was the mvp. I also liked the effort from the Crawford Kid at Rb, 179 yards on the ground is my mvp. He ran the ball hard. A long ways to go but very disciplined young team that l believe Boyle has to be excited about.

Owensboro Catholic 33 Daviess County 31
Daviess is better than what I would have expected. OC has some work to do on the line. The offensive line has to improve as the season progresses.
-
Boyle County 2017
I also have heard the next 3 years Boyle will be great, and this years team may be the most talented Boyle has ever had. The names that everyone knows around the state are Bramel,Paycheck,Kelly, and Smith, but who else are there big time players-3 of those are lineman, and does anyone know when Boyle has there first scrimmage?

2017 Class 1A Preseason Top 10
I agree with the previous post, Pikeville is not at the same level. I really think Paintsville can make a deep run if the Qb comes thru. I forget his name but watched his tape Paintsville has a great d lineman that can change the game up front.

Boyle County 2017
I stated on a post earlier in the week when I was commenting on Belfry that a few coaches I know that I've talked with in 3A feel this Boyle team is the most talented team chuck has had since coming back. Senior Will Bramel who has multiple D1 offers leading a talented and large offensive line, and Boyle also has tremendous speed at all skilled positions. Boyles defense returns most of its players and the D line will be led by sophomore Wilson Kelly who I heard has also got Division 1 schools interested. They also have Paycheck back on the line who was a All State player. Boyle should be great up front. The question mark for Boyle is the most important position, the QB.Does anyone know who has been playing there during spring practice? Catholic also will be loaded with a great Qb and Rb, both have offers. Beau Allen is just a freshman Qb that has a Division 1 offer. He is capable of picking a defense apart. Boyle hasn't been able to beat Catholic over the past few years, so that's what Boyle has to be able to do this year to improve, beat Catholic and find consistency at the Qb position.

Belfry 2017
I really believe the 3A State Championship comes down to 4 teams. Belfry, Corbin, and Boyle, Catholic. I've talked to several coaches in 3A and they have said that Boyle is absolutely loaded this year and has tremendous size and speed. It should be a fun year. It's always interesting, even when I coached, all High school kids grow at different rates and those boys start to become men from one summer to the next and changes the dynamics of a team occasionally,so it's fun to talk about, but who knows how teams will change year to year.

Belfry 2017
I believe like most years again it will come down to Belfry and Corbin except this year I believe Corbin will be the favorite.
