  1. I hope the 10th NEVER has the 5th region officials again.
  2. Congrats to Briana! Great career. I hope she gets a chance at the College level somewhere.
  3. Jordan needed 18 pts going into the game. Her teammates knew it and fed her the ball as much as they could. As soon as she reached the milestone, she came out on the next dead ball. Starters played roughly 6 - 8 minutes of actual game time. Congrats Jo!
  4. I didn't see the original post. Thanks for moving mine over to here. I agree Dunaway has to stay on the court for MC to have any shot of advancing in the Regional.
  5. Article from Danny Weddle. Congrats MC on the win. Nice game by Ty Fox. Monday, February 20, 2017 Royals use big 2nd half to beat Augusta 54-36 in district opener Augusta controlled the tempo in the first half and it was a four-point game at intermission, but Mason County sped up the game in the second half and the Royals beat the Panthers 54-36 tonight in the upper bracket semifinal game of the 39th District Tournament at the Fieldhouse. There were three ties and four lead changes in the first half and Mason County had a 20-16 lead at the half. The Royals outscored the Panthers 18-7 in the third quarter and led by as many 23 points in the fourth quarter. Mason County shot 56 percent from the field in the second half. Jaylen Lofton scored 16 of his game-high 18 points in the second half. Ty Fox had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Mason County advances to the championship game Thursday night and will play the winner of Tuesday's game between St. Patrick and Bracken County. 6. I didn't see the score posted. I commend the Augusta girls for playing hard. Here's Danny Weddle's article: Monday, February 20, 2017 Lady Royals rout Augusta 89-17 in district semifinal The Mason County Lady Royals jumped out to a 15-0 lead before the Augusta Lady Panthers got off their first shot and cruised to an 89-17 victory in the upper bracket semifinal game of the 39th District Tournament. Mason County led 29-6 at the end of the first quarter and then scored 51 straight points. The Lady Royals outscored Augusta 31-0 in the second quarter and scored the first 20 points of the third quarter. Briana McNutt scored her 1,000th career in the first quarter. Jordan Frodge scored nine straight points including her 1,000th career point in the second quarter. Frodge was 9-of-11 from the field and scored a game-high 20 points. Erica Simms was 6-of-6 from the field and scored 14 points. Kara Moran added 10 points. The Lady Royals shot 67.3 percent from the field including 84.6 percent (11-of-13) in the second half. Mason County advances to the championship game Thursday night to play the winner of Tuesday night's game between St. Patrick and Bracken County, MC (20-8) Brooks 3, Highfield 2, O'Mara 5, Reed 8, Moran 10, McNutt 8, Butler 3, May 6, Frodge 20, Simms 14, White 3, Schumacher 3, Boone 4 A (9-18) Browning 3, Garrett 5, Kelsch 3, Shields 6 MC 29 31 20 09- 89 A 06 00 03 08-17 Congrats to Brianna McNutt and Jordan Frodge who both scored their 1000th point last night. O'Mara, Boone, McNutt, and Frodge all from one team with over 1000 pts and Littleton with over 500 pts and 400 assts. Congrats to all the girls and thanks for your efforts.
  7. FYI...Last time Kentucky beat Indiana in the All Star series was with Chris Lofton. Kentucky won the first game and Chris hurt an ankle and Indiana won the second game. On a side note...I'd love to see Wells become the next Coach at Morehead State.
  8. I wish the coaches could nominate more than just 3 girls. Last year McNutt from Mason County didn't make any team because she wasn't nominated. This year Frodge was the player who had to be left out. I'm not sure why Coaches wouldn't be allowed to vote for any player on the KHSAA roster for each of the Region 10 teams?
  9. I look for St. Pat to really slow this game down and try to make it low scoring. I think Bracken eventually pulls away, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's around a 10 pt game.
  10. It will be hard to replace these 8 young ladies. They have been great representatives for Mason County. Good luck to them all in their future endeavors.
  11. I know your are looking at this from an extreme...but the situation that occurs in these type instances is that the player and ball are out of control. In your scenario, I'm sure a ref won't consider the player to not have control of the ball and would thus call the travel. Although honestly, I don't see 5th grade kids being able to run at full speed while maintaining control of the ball back and forth in their hands. So you may create the out of control aspect by default and I don't see that going in your teams favor often.
  12. I think it would definitely make the "draw" argument mute. The Districts would basically just be for show unless you are going to make each District champ the automatic top 4 seeds.
  13. "Finally, an 85-85 OT loss to 9th region power Cooper with Bertsch, Hegyi, Clos and Jolly reaching double figures." Boy that's a tough loss for Campbell...You'd think they'd out least get a tie out of that score! :jump:
  14. High intensity game between 2 good teams. The addition of Harney to SK team has made a huge difference. She adds another dimension to their team.
  15. Mason County Freshmen girls won the 10th region tournament with a hard fought 41 - 33 win over Harrison County @ the Lady Royals gym last night. Congrats to the young Lady Royals.
  16. As reported by Danny Weddle...Jordan Frodge from Mason County signed to play golf at Georgetown College. Jordan is a great young lady and I wish her the best in her future! Courtside with Danny Weddle
  17. And I think Briana Littleton is going to be over 500 pts and 400 assts. That's been a really special group of ladies for Mason Co.
  18. Does each team get a chance to be the host school? If so, can't that school decide where it wants to host the district tournament provided the location meets the requirements.
  19. Congrats Maddie! Looks like Jordan Frodge and Brianna McNutt are both about 60-70 pts away from 1000. That would make 4 from the same class if they get there. Wow.
  20. IMO Girls in particular but also Boys should play where they are the most comfortable with the Coaches, program, education, and other factors that make them happy. There will be very few players ever go on to play pro ball after college, so use it to your benefit and enjoy your college experience. Congrats to Ally.
  21. So Berry is transferring back to West after a year at Rowan? Is that correct? She's a heck of a player.
  22. One of WC's best players is out. Nolen. I think she had knee surgery. She would make a difference.
