  1. Simon Kenton has too much experience this early in the year. We'll see how Ryle does as the year goes on.
  2. Jordan was player of the game. She led all MC scorers with 20 pts. Whitney O'Mara had 15 (11 in the 2nd half). And Briana McNutt I think had 8 rebs. Lincoln led 13 - 10 after 1st quarter. MC was sluggish after the 2.5 hr bus ride. But once they started pressuring and getting after it on the defense, MC got several run-outs and open looks. Still need to cut down on the turnovers, but they looked much better in this game than they did against Scott County. I watched the 2nd half of the Southwestern and Male game. Very physical. Male was trailing at half by 5. Male made a run by rebounding and pressing. They got up by 6 - 7. But then Southwestern adjusted against the press and wound up winning by 8 pts. Male is VERY physical. Good thing for them girls couldn't foul out. Male is pretty big inside and will give many teams rebounding problems. They also had a girl (#5) who was knocking down lots of jump shots. Southwestern has a couple nice players (wing and center) who did a lot of scoring. They should have a good season.
  3. Turley can flat out play. I expect Murray to be top 5 all year.
  4. I was just teasing, but kudos to you guys. Thanks.
  5. I'll give it a shot: 1 Scott - because of Ohmer 2 Campbell - experienced 3 Paris - very athletic 4 Pendleton - And may be low if Allen can carry the team. 5 Bracken - Crawford's supporting cast will determine the season. 6 Montgomery Co. - Jones can play. 7 Mason County - Depth has to develop. And can Isaiah lead? 8 GRC - New Coach? 9 Harrison Co. - Has some returning talent. 10 Brossart - Always plays tough D. I think it there is a lot of individual talent spread out on different teams. How well the teams gel or supporting casts develop will determine who wins this year.
  6. So do the girls get 3 hours of coverage as well?
  7. Thanks Colonel. I would think they would all be good games, but the Belfry/Corbin and Paintsville/Hazard games would be fun to be at for the atmosphere.
  8. Yep...Missed that one. The schedule will either give them great confidence or wear them down.
  9. Can someone provide a compiled list of who's still playing? Or maybe a link that shows each class? Thanks.
  10. If these rankings are close, Mason County should be well tested by the end of the year. Here's the teams they play per this preseason rankings: 11/19 scrimmage #22 Scott County (won 46 - 41) 11/26 scrimmage #25 Lincoln County 12/5 vs #10 Holmes 1/21 @ #7 Bullitt East 1/25 @ # 24 GRC 1/28 vs #21 Campbell Co. 2/10 vs #22 Scott Co. 2/11 @ #8 Simon Kenton 2/17 @ #6 Franklin Co.
  11. I'll copy and post this here from the Mason County thread: Quote Originally Posted by sumoroyal View Post Mason defeated Scott Co. in their first scrimmage last night 46-41 at Harrison Co. Owens girl from Scott County can really play. I think she had around 18 - 20 of their points. Scott County hit 8 threes (many of them very deep by Owens). Mason couldn't get the outside shot to fall...only 1 three out of about 10 attempts. Mason's defense stepped it up in the 2nd half and created a lot of Scott County turnovers.

  13. Good pick up for Colorado. Congrats to the Robinson family.
  14. What a schedule....Get all 1st round games done in 1 day. But it also appears the late Thursday/Friday teams would be at a rest disadvantage.
  15. Just so everyone knows...I'm not being serious. If any kid were to transfer to Mason County, I'd want it to be a legit transfer with no strings attached.
  16. Mason County needs about a 6'3" big! Any of those out there want to transfer in? Still have 2 weeks before the season starts! :sssh: Of course it needs to be for the academic opportunity first.

  19. Sumo...If you bring them in you have to play them. Don't want disgruntled parents.:ohbrother:
  20. Great one on one tackle by the young man.
  21. Congrats Coach. Still wish you were at MC but wish you and your team nothing but the best.
  22. I left out the 2 games in the Murph Classic: Holy Cross @ MC - 12/22 Conner @ MC - 12/23
