Interesting... But are you using BGPs ranking, Cantrell, or Litkenhous?

Silver Grove did not make the cut because this only works with 16 teams.

You'd have to do a play-in game. I'm guessing Silver Grove is #17; they'd have an opening round game with St. Patrick with the winner to face Campbell County.

Understand. So doesn't change much?

I edited post #6 to add possible game times. A Friday night with Campbell/Scott and Paris/GRC at the Fieldhouse would fill the place up!

Another reason why I am a fan of this: Schools like Pendleton, Bracken, and Augusta get the opportunity to host a post-season elimination game. Last year Augusta would have hosted Nicholas County. But it would be fun to see a Bracken host Pendleton or vise-versa or Bracken host Augusta or vice versa. These games are already big but it would be even better if the loser's season ended. Just think for a minute that Augusta could host a post-season game in their iconic gym. It would give schools an incentive to fight for every game all season to be an 8+ seed and host a big elimination game.

Like that perspective Vito! But if Augusta and Bracken draw each other in the first round, doesn't the winner end the other's season?

However, I get it, Augusta doesn't get to host a post season game unless in top 8 of super regional.

No, because all the teams would advance to the super-regional. KHSAA said they would only allow 29 games instead of 30, to make up for the extra game played.

Another reason for this: Right now the region is mildly seeded due to the fact that a district champion plays a district runnner-up. If you're a district champion, you probably want no part of the runner-up of the 37th and 40th district. So this sort of evens everything out so that the best 4 teams could be in the semi-finals. Also attempts to put the best two teams in the finals and not the semi-finals.
