You are correct sumo. I think the money in the first round should be kept by the host school however pay for the away team's travel. Another incentive to be an 8+ seed.

What about MoCo hosting it too?

Yes it would still go through the current hosting formatting for the final 8.

I want to hear some reasons against this, because surely the pros out-weigh the cons.

Round 2 (Using chalk)

Wednesday

Campbell County vs. Mason County

Bracken County vs. Scott

Thursday

Paris vs. Bourbon County

George Rogers Clark vs. Pendleton County

Round 3

Friday

Campbell County vs. Scott

Paris vs. George Rogers Clark

I keep going back and looking at this to find ways to make it better. I think I would need to move the round 3 games to Saturday and then have the championship game on Monday. To give each team a day to prepare

I like the top 8 getting home games. However, I'm just throwing ideas out there. For the casual fan who likes to take in as many games as possible. What if you did four pods for the first round. Play all four upper bracket games on the same night. But play two games at a neutral site and play the other two at another neutral site. Then play the lower bracket at two sites the next night. For casual fans they would get to see two games. They would just have to choose which two they would want to see. Overall, I like the idea of a Super Region.

What about this Vito?

Monday @ Harrison

Campbell/St Pat

Mason / Brossart

Monday @ Mason

Scott/Augusta

Bracken/Montgomery

Tuesday @ Campbell Middle

Paris/Calvary

Bourbon/Nicholas

Tuesday @ Montgomery

GRC/Robertson

Pendleton/Harrison

Saturday @ Mason

All quarter final games.

Two game afternoon session.

Two game evening session.

Monday @ Mason

Semi-finals

Tuesday @ Mason

Championship

I also thought about the idea of playing the all 8 first round games on the same night, it might sound crazy but here's why: It creates a sense of controlled chaos. You may be at one game but you're constantly trying to check scores of the other games. Like the MLB recently changed the Wildcard format so both games are played on the same night, at the same time. I though that this would draw some interest because of everything going on.

I also thought about making it so that every district played their boys championship game on Thursday, and have the first round of 8 played on the Saturday with games going on throughout the day at different times so people could go to multiple games. Then have round two on Monday and Tuesday, round three on Thursday, and the championship on Saturday.

@dell I though it was necessary to give each team a one day break between games.

And I like the idea of sectionals of what you had. Only problem is I think have of Mason County play @ somewhere the same night they host games would be a problem. Administration would want to watch Mason County play instead of hosting other teams.

Fill me in on the district. Would they still have the district tournaments? If so how would this change seeding? With the super region I thought districts would not be needed.

Just thought playing semi and championship would get them partially ready for possibly playing four straight days in the Sweet 16.

Districts are the same. Finals on Thursday. Region on Saturday. It would be the same as having the SEC tournament. It still means something but if you lose, you still get to play in the NCAA tournmanent.

I'm not sure how they plan to see as of right now, but I would have a "selection show" on early Friday morning after districts where they put together Rankings from LIT, Cantrell, and BGP.

I agree. I was thinking same thing when I typed it. With some tweaking I think this would work.
