I think the Super Regional is a GREAT idea, all schools benefit from it by getting to play in the post season. The whole "the best team doesn't always win theory wouldn't be as much as a factor as the best teams have a higher chance to advance to the finals.

One reason I don't like that is because it sort of it same as it is now. If you do it by Rankings 1-16 it ensures the best 4 teams are remain, then then the best 2. GRC, Paris, Scott, Campbell should all be in the final 4.

Missed my point, I think. Teams must be ranked 1-16; but, it is how they get their ranking. Coaches poll (25%); Lit (25%); Cantrall (25%); which adds to 75% and are all based on body of work for season. Final 25% comes from District positioning with every team earning a 1 thru 4 rating that based on Champion thru 4th place would need to be weighted appropriately. One last chance to earn a higher seed on the floor making the Districts potentially very important and not a go-through-the-motions tournament.

Mythical Example:

Bluejackets 1 in Lit. Rockets 2.

Bluejackets 2 in Cantrall. Rockets 1.

Bluejackets 2 in Coaches. Rockets 3.

Clearly Bluejackets are ahead for the # 1 seed with a total of 5 vs 6 for Rockets and all this can be known in advance of Districts. Now the seeding gets affirmed or re-shuffled by what happens on the playing floor at the Districts. Top teams win their Districts, no reshuffeling. But, if the Bluejackets get upset in District and win 3rd place game and the Rockets win their Dist Ch.

Rockets with 7 total (6+1) overtake Bluejackets with 8 (5+3). This makes the Districts possibly very important in playing for the highest seed possible.

@Oldercoach I missed your point but now I got it and that makes sense. Adds some more importance to the District Tournament. I like it

I know it was said that it makes the district tournament mean less. However, it makes the regular season mean A LOT more.
