Will the worm turn this year?
Not sure how Louisville works but I have a friend who lives in NKY and his son goes to Cincinnati St. X. His son is NOT ALLOWED by the school, not sure if that is an Ohio rule or school rule, to play ANY sports. Do those Indiana kids now live in KY. or does Kentucky/Louisville schools not have the same types of rules. I am just asking. Not trying to stir any pots.

NKY Coaches Poll Week 2
Ryle should be a 9 or 10 Walton should get more respect. Highlands too high. NewCath should be a 5 or 6.

6A #6 Simon Kenton at 6A # 10 Conner
With Tropical Storm Harvey moving into the area and Conner's mud field I expect a low scoring game. The mud will slow the SK passing game and the runners will be sliding around. Both teams better break out the long cleats. I still can't figure out why the Boone County schools don't have turf. Don't put too much into this game if the final score is close because of conditions. I wonder if they will move the game to SK to keep players from getting hurt. The news is calling for 3 inches of rain on Friday. This will be a mud bowl.

4A Scott vs. 2A Covington Holy Cross (Game @ TMC on Sat. 9/2)
This will, unfortunately, get very ugly for the young Indians.

ESPN coming to Union
ESPN may have to switch to better programming after the first quarter. This may be a bloodbath.

6A #6 Simon Kenton at 6A # 10 Conner
And, by the way, both games were running clock situations so Coach Marksberry, who you constantly bash, showed class unlike other teams and put in his 2nd and 3rd teamers for the last 1.5 - 2 quarters.

Your rhetoric is old and unintelligent. It is well known that you hate SK. Why don't you tell us something new please. I think I speak for many when I say that we all know your opinion and don't care to hear it year after year. Do you have anything constructive to say?

Simon Kenton 26 Ryle 25 (JV)
Shearer played one JV game last year maybe 2. No biggie. Whoever the kid was who played QB for Ryle against SK was the starting QB at the beginning of the season but has been sent back to JV to develop.

Summitview is where he played I believe. That is an SK feeder.

Simon Kenton 26 Ryle 25 (JV)
Gangwish caught a 50 yarder down the right sideline for the first TD. Farfsing ran the 2nd one in from the 2 yard line. Bleier had the Pick 6 for the 3rd TD. Farfsing threw a 20 yarder on a comeback to Gangwish with 1:36 left. Defense stepped up huge in the 2nd half. Bend but don't break definitely applied to the Pioneers today.

Simon Kenton 26 Ryle 25 (JV)
Farfsing 2 TD's passing, 1 rushing Gangwish 2 TD's receiving Bleier - 90 Yard Pick 6 All of this in the 2nd half after putting up a goose egg in the first half.

I wasn't lowering the bar for the rest of the state. I was raising the bar for T. Man. No need to be a glass-half-empty kinda guy. Hahaha!!

The state title isn't even a feather in Trinity's cap anymore. It's kind of sad that there is no other school in the state, private or public, who can compete with them and their infinite resources. They really need to go independent and just play nationally. It's not like they don't have the national players or exposure. A 5 year run is one thing. A 30 or 40 year dynasty is another. Trinity needs to move on to bigger and better things. The dollars they could earn would far outweigh the dollars they already make.

Not a good way for the Dawgs to celebrate their new digs. Feeling bad for the C.O.V. tonight.

Is the ship taking on water in Union?
4 words. Ship is sinking fast. Or just 1 year removed from Stud City in Union. 1 word. Titanic.

Ryle 34 Henry Clay 28 (OT)
Load the box and stop Chisholm and England and score a lot of points on the pourous Ryle defense. That is a recipe for success against the Raiders. That district appears to be significantly weaker this year than any other year I remember. Cooper and Conner are just not good. Ryle will likely be the district champ by default and get slaughtered in the playoffs Yes. After week 1 the Raiders need to start figuring out the future.

Simon Kenton 49 Bryan Station 27
Station played their starters the whole game. Their scores were all against the 2nd and 3rd team defenses in the 2nd half except the 7 points they scored in the 1st.

50 Years Of Covington Catholic Football
Back then most of the kids came from Covington hence the name "Covington Catholic" and the River Cities. Now most of the kids come from Edgewood, Villa Hills, Ft. Mitchell, and Boone County. Definitely a change in times.

Pleasure Ridge Park 6 Simon Kenton 5 (Whitaker Bank/KHSAA State Championship)
This whole discussion is a mute point. The fact of the matter is that the Simon Kenton players and coaches elected not to stay. They did not want to do anything different than they had done before every game. i.e. wear the same socks and underwear. LOL!!! Rid this of a conspiracy theory or being cheap or anything else. Strictly superstition and everyone was on board. I know. I have a kid on the team. End of topic.
