very true, but there are some schools that at least try. I know Bellevue does a good job of maintaining it during the off-season. Holmes used do take great care of their field. I know when Holy Cross started playing there it got harder to maintain

Are there any schools that still maintain a grass surface? I emphasize maintain in that they not only have grass, but that they actually take care of it

A coach could say don't go on spring break, but it's ultimately the parents decision. And for football, it's hard to enforce a tough punishment with it (loss of playing time) because it's not a spring sport. I've seen coaches try this and were told by the AD or principal to not enforce and apologize. Baseball could get away with it because they're in season and have games scheduled.

I know SK, Highlands and CovCath have 2 active concession stands. Newport has 2 as well, but they only leave 1 open most of the time. Any other stadiums have 2? Also, restrooms?

Only stadium i haven't seen a varsity football game at recently is Ryle. I've been there many times for track meets, scrimmages, and watched the fall sports showcase they used to do. Anyone that's been, what do you think?

I think the kids at Holmes will once they see how much he cares about them. If you care about those kids, they'll run through a wall for you

Most of the big schools have great stadiums, but what about smaller schools. Newport, Beechwood, Walton Verona. Where do some of those schools rank?

All personal opinion of course, but i look for quality of the field surface. What kind of stands, locker rooms, concession stand quality, parking, location, etc. Just looking for what people think, no awards being given

Carr is an intense coach, and personally I think his style works great for that team. Scott was at its best when they were playing up tempo. And in the 37th district with Brossart and Campbell, if you're not matching their intensity, you're going to struggle. I know Carr had his arguments with administration and some parents, but that happens in every relationship

If attendance is the issue, I don't think moving the games to Saturday night will make much of a difference. Purple said it earlier, it's more of the who is playing than what time the game is. I would prefer having the Saturday night game so I could have a more viable (still not good) excuse for my wife to spend the whole day in Lexington. I do think the KHSAA should make the semifinal games earlier in the day if they stick with the Sunday championship

Being a Catholic school, the stereotype is that schools like Holy Cross and NCC are rolling in money when people connected to those communities know that's far from the the case and that every dollar counts. Congrats to HC and hopefully it contributes to the nkypete retirement fund

Not a CovCath fan, but everyone in the 9th region should be rooting for NCC

Like Thor said, he's not dominant against athletic tall guys, and guys like Goodin from Taylor County or Williams from Dunbar could give him fits, but he's a physical guy that'll wear down guys like that before they wear him down. Key to beating NCC is not allowing Moeves, Hall or Anderson to start hitting from outside. Make NCC play inside the 3 point line and work hard for every shot.
