Schrand has been playing lights out lately and with Bezold back, even if he's not 100%, I think Holy Cross will be too much

I like high school basketball the way it is, but the more and more I hear, read and see college coaches talk about it, the greater the chance of state associations possibly voting it in.

Good to hear Bezold got back into the swing of things. Leighton Schrand might be the most under-rated player in the region

Weyer was unstoppable, don't remember final stats but he had to be over 20 points.

I mentioned this on a different thread, i think Goodin is the best player in the state, but Williams has been the most valuable to his team. However, Taylor County is getting better and I think if they win their region then Goodin will get it

I'm being serious, i agree that Weyer is the front runner for POY, but I don't think he's running away with it just yet. Even though VonHandorff isn't having a dominant season, it's a pretty good one on who i think is the best team in the region right now.

Jackson Crawford at Brossart is having a fantastic season and should be considered.

Any consideration for CVH at CovCath?

If Brossart plays the tournament the same way they played Holy Cross, then they'll make it to Frankfort. 10th Region will be very competitive

Agreed, especially with Lou. Holy Cross and KCD in the other district with Frankfort.

Beechwood loses some key players, and compared to last year's team it will be a bit of a step back, but they are still the top team in their district and give it a few games before they get a groove that will carry them into the playoffs

Big win for the Mustangs! Looks like that loss at Bracken woke them up. I've watched Holy Cross a couple times and they are athletic, quick, but you could tell the tournament in Lexington took a toll on them

Were the officials more on the aggressive side, or called too much, or was inconsistent?

I have heard a few interviews from former nfl players, coaches, agents, and a doctor. They all basically said the same thing. This movie will make an impact at the youth level, but won't do anything for the nfl and college football. Their point being this: what sport replaces nfl and college football? Biggest sporting event in the US is the Super Bowl. College football is more popular than ever, and cherry on top of it all: parents that say they won't let their kids play are still going to games and throwing parties at home when their team is on TV.

Austin Crawford reminds me of Corey Pelle, the really good player from Silver Grove in the mid 00's. He played at West Liberty, was an All-American and helped lead them to the NCAA D2 Final Four. I think he went over to Europe to play for a bit. I don't know if Crawford will have that success, I don't know if Crawford will go to college. Maybe the kid wants to join the military or wants to start working right out of high school. I think he's capable of playing college ball at the D3, NAIA level.

This kid is definitely one of the best in the 10th region. 4th quarter, the kid is unstoppable penetrating the lane, and he's smooth getting to the basket.

He's definitely one of the most underrated players in NKY, love the way this kid plays on defense, offense and special teams

Only change I would make is to bump Nicholas County up a bit higher. They return a lot and teams will struggle stopping a very strong rushing attack

9th Region is fairly difficult. NCC and Holy Cross would take up most of the spots. NCC: Dawn, Krebs, Geisler, Kiernan, MacDonald Holy Cross: Houston, McClendon, Harney, Clark, Burger, Campbell St. Henry would have a good number of guys in there as well, but the one that stands out for me is Matt Otte. Lloyd had a couple guys in the mid 90s. I also remember Ludlow having a player that played at Morehead State, Dan Penick.

I've been wanting to catch a Holy Cross game. I think this team is capable of big things and could be that team that finally gets into the regional tournament. However, it'll be interesting to see if they out-think themselves against CovCath and Holmes.
