  8. Thank you for the kind words and the feedback. We really want to do a good job for our listeners. We value them. We value their time. We also appreciate people who love KY HS Football. If our answers are not honest, no reason to listen. Also, our answers must be fair. No exploitation or throwing someone under the bus. Our approach to the podcast is the same as when we coach our teams. We want to make it the absolute best it can possibly be. From 1969 through 2019, the head football coach at Boyle County HS was either my Dad or someone from his coaching tree, for all but 3 years (1989-1991). That is 48 out of 51 seasons. While Chuck and I certainly will disagree on some things, that type of culture, consistency, philosophy, commitment to excellence and longevity show up often on our episodes. It is one of those things that can be tough to pinpoint, but I believe that feature makes our podcast unique, and gives it the potential to be exceptional. Eat your Wheaties because we are fired up for the long haul! 😎 🎤 🏈

  15. Went to Phil Simm's Camp w/ some great guys from Bath County, summer of 1981... Charlie Kissick, John Lyons and Juan Armitage. We practiced football all day and chased girls(Girls State at MSU) after practice in the evenings. Good grief we had fun back in those days. Juan had a girlfriend back home so he wouldn't go with us. Lol When I was at Paris in the late 80's and early 90's, Gary Ramey had some good football teams. We got them in the region championship, 15-0, on top of that hill. Freezing. 1989.
  16. I know of one excellent young assistant that is prepping materials to apply. Would be a great hire. When I was an assistant at Paris, we had a dang track meet down there one night to open the season. 1989. Beautiful place for a football game. The mountains of eastern KY are special and the brand of football played in the mountains is top notch.
  17. Season 2: Episode 15 Thanksgiving 7:30 EST 4:30 PST Guest Coach: Kurt Hines of Coronado HS (CA) How does a guy get 70,000 followers on Twitter? 18. We had a blast recording this episode. And, he may not want to admit it, but Coach Hines... he is one of us! The Coaches Office: Behind the Scenes of HS w/ Chuck Smith & David Buchanan Thanksgiving 7:30 pm EST / 4:30 pm PST
  19. Mike Bowlin is an awful good football coach... and an even better man and friend. He has had alot on his plate the last few years. He always put the kids first and never made excuses. I am a big fan of Coach Bowlin and if he ever wants to be a Bearcat, we would welcome him with open arms.
  20. Eat your Wheaties… our Podcast Guest for Thanksgiving (7:30 pm EST) is THE Coach Kurt Hines ! The Coaches Office: Behind the Scenes of HS w/ Chuck Smith & David Buchanan Also, we will pick the semifinal winners in this episode.... or... more accurately... we will ATTEMPT to predict the winners!! 🙂
  21. Those region championship predictions... already stirring the pot. Listen to this episode. Let us have it if you don't like who we picked... we are use to people being mad at us. It's ok. 😎 https://www.spreaker.com/user/frankfortbroadcast/coaches-office-with-coach-nick-baisch_1
  22. Season 2: Episode 14 Thursday, 11/16 7:30 pm Guest Coach: Nick Baisch, HFC @ Lexington Catholic Learning from Kevin Wallace Lexington Catholic QBs Region Champion Picks for all 4 regions, all 6 classes Harlee Estepp: What do you look for when choosing what head coaching jobs to apply for? "We both have done it enough, to be able to answer that question." - Chuck Smith @bruin66 w/ the Listener Question of the Week What was the question when Coach Chuck Smith responded, "No. You can save your breathe." Don't let your fiance talk to the wife of the 0-5 head coach... right Charlie Cox? What about it, has the old coach got the magic to pull off the big upset.... one more time? Who remembers the CKC (the Central Kentucky Conference)? Mac Yocum is on fire with the throwback segment!!
  23. Watching Coach Williams lead the GLFCA really helped me w/ the KFCA. He was a dang warrior for JCPS kids when we were fighting to have a season in the fall of 2020. He made sure those kids were not forgotten or left behind. His ability to lead and work w/ admin was exceptional. #RESPECT
  24. This week's tough topic, from Harlee Estepp: "When looking for a HFC job, what qualities do you think are important to look for in a school to make it a good potential one to apply for?" TH, 11/16, 7:30 pm! The Coaches Office: Behind the Scenes of HS 🏈 w/ Chuck Smith & David Buchanan
