His two son's are good young talent, not to mention Paris has a couple of other young players if they were to go with Coach Strait to LCA.

A obvious choice to me last year would have been Terrence Brooks, from what I have heard he wanted it last time. I know there seemed to be a falling out which led to him coaching middle school last year at Bourbon County. Will he be interested and can those relationships be mended? The fact remains to be successful at Bourbon County or Paris, you're going to have to be one of the best teams in the state just to make the regional tournament. Tough world to live trying to compete against Moco and GRC.

Well who ever is hired, at least he will have 50% of the parents on his side. LOL

I'll take Terrible Ideas for $500, Alex.  I've heard this whole interview process has been interesting. According to someone on the "hiring" committee, they had 10 members on an interview committee NOT including some student-athletes that were apparently on it, interviews were timed, an on-court instruction/practice with current players, and now this? Wild.

Yeah, this has to be a different approach, but who knows, it could work.

For sure it could….but I’m 99% sure one of the finalists is a coach who is local to the area/community, and is currently a HC at another school. So are they just parading the other applicant around?

I understand what you're saying, but at least the other applicant is gaining experience in the new format of open interviews.  Plus, he could over sway the panel.

Seems weird to me and a slippery slope of sorts but I am not judging. 

One candidate lives in Paris and the other doesn’t. How do you think this is going to go?

 

Just a ridiculous way to hire a coach.

If there are over 5 people on a “hiring committee” I’m not even interested in interviewing.

You have to know who is somewhat in charge. 10 is ridiculous!!!

No wonder there has been a lot of turnover in Paris.

But we all know mommy's and daddy's know what is best for the program. lol

I am curious to see this play out no way this goes smoothly. Do we at least know who the finalist are?
