Boone County grass or turf?
Pioneer.Pride replied to birds78fan's topic in KY Football (High School)
The deterioration of athletic programs in Boone County is certainly boosting Cov Cath, NDA and BW. -
What IF Beechwood loses to Newport Central Catholic?
Pioneer.Pride replied to Bac2369's topic in KY Football (High School)
I would be inclined to expect a BW running clock, if, this were not the last game of the year. Would Coach Rash play starters if the game is under control given that playoffs start next week? -

Who are we kidding? BW will roll through 1A like a heated knife through butter! Could well be running clock in every post season game! -

Atlanta's offense is lost without Shanahan. The TD Atlanta scored last night was the first in 6 quarters! Would not be surprised to see a change in OC for Atlanta. TB12 is still getting hit way too often. Cooks getting bigger and bigger role. -
Best coach to never win a state championship
Pioneer.Pride replied to Sinbad 74's topic in KY Football (High School)
Ok, I'm biased, but Jeff Marksberry deserves consideration. 10 years ago, SK was a perennial doormat, winning 1 - 3 games a year. Now they win double digit games for 10 years now. Its one thing to win when you have championship caliber talent every year, quite another when you do not. -
Now everybody in the AFC has at least 2 losses, so it is wide open again. Teams that were supposedly dead 4 days ago, are suddenly alive again (even the Bengals!).

Sophomores playing Freshman games
Pioneer.Pride replied to KY Outsider's topic in KY Football (High School)
It is often the choice of playing sophomores in freshman games, or, not playing freshman games at all. -
I had James Alex Fields in my Cub Scout Den and he was just a little bit older than the child who is the subject here. James is Bi Polar and was a very serious threat to others and himself at a very young age. Restraining this individual with hand cuffs would be extremely appropriate. Would the jury had been more forgiving of the school district if the student involved had killed one of his fellow students?

The remedies for violent behaviour would typically be covered in the IEP of a challenged student. However, RO have no awareness of IEPs. Only school staff are aware of IEP provisions. The fact that the RO had to respond indicates staff was unable to respond which IMO is more of a liability than the actual restraint of the student.

Colin Kaepernick Files Grievance......

Just another immature professional athlete demanding the right to protest while wearing the uniform of his employer, but denying the right of that employer to choose whom they employ. Such oppression! -

A little premature , don't you think? Michigan State, Penn State and Wisconsin are having pretty good seasons. Big 10 might be better than the over rated SEC this year! In addition, the Oklahoma loss is looking bad after their loss to Iowa State.

OG, is there any reason for optimism in the Boone youth program for the future? Is Coach Steel and staff investing for the future?

I hate seeing a young QB going into a situation where there is no pass protection, no run game, and no weapons to throw to. I also have always felt that Eli was WAY OVERRATED. It would make more sense to trade Eli for multiple draft picks since the Giants have so many wholes. If we are going to talk about putting Eli on the trading block, how about Ben?

Raiders wear helmet decal honoring Vegas victims.
Pioneer.Pride replied to jericho's topic in Controversial Issues
Goodell does suck, but, its much deeper than that. Curt Schilling gets fired for expressing a conservative political view, but Jemele Hill faces no action after calling POTUS a white supremacist. The NFL tolerates and implicitly supports players disrespecting the anthem, but, disallows decals supporting fallen police officers. These are clearly business decisions. Given a choice, the NFL/ESPN would sacrifice its conservative audience to protect its liberal audience. The armed forces themselves do plenty of business with the NFL for recruiting purposes as well as supplying honor/color guards for games. How can they support such disrespect for the flag that covers our fallen? -

ESPN’s Jemele Hill suspended from network for two weeks | Fox News Jamele Hill suspended for 2 weeks. Calling the POTUS a white supremacist is ok, but disrupting our cash flow! -

Do college games take too long to play?
Pioneer.Pride replied to All Tell's topic in College Football
The college game does not even have a 2 minute warning! I agree with the continuing the clock after first downs. How about some form of running clock or review restrictions for games that are essentially decided, but not over? I would make the point that I would like to see review of penalty calls added. Way too often, officiating decides games. They do this in the CFL. Simply access a time out if the challenge fails, so no impact on the duration of the game. -
Health Insurance Companies Stink
Pioneer.Pride replied to Voice of Reason's topic in Controversial Issues
If there is one thing that the high cost and low quality of health insurance and providers should drive is responsible self care. The person that exercises, eats responsibly, limits alcohol consumption and effectively manages stress, should not be paying the same premiums or experiencing the same costs as those who consume alcohol and tobacco in excess, have sedentary lifestyles and experiment with various recreational substances. It seems like there is overwhelming financial incentive to make healthy lifestyle choices, but, lets face it, most of us do not. -
Mass Shooting in Las Vegas

Didn't fit the gunman of the GOP Congressional Caucus Softball shooting either, but, that shooter was a radicalized liberal.
