  1. Might not be a bad idea to get young players experiance. Nothing to lose at this point.
  2. I would add that the concession lines were 45 min +. They used to have a booth just for beverages and that worked out well. They lost about $15 in concession sales from me!
  3. This article is on target with many of the OL issues discussed in this thread. It points out how elite athletes are choosing to be on DL because of pay incentives and the "glamour" of sacking a QB rather than protecting one. From the article : "Teams are more able than ever to field effective pass rushers at every spot on the defensive line. And, as these defensive pass-rush units have lined up more frequently against inferior offensive lineman, they’ve become more and more effective at getting pressure with just four rushers. Last year, teams blitzed (defined as sending five pass rushers or more) just 27.4 percent of the time—a 5.8 percent drop from the 2010 season, per the Football Outsiders Almanac. And despite the fact that offensive lines faced a decade-low 4.24 pass rushers per dropback, quarterbacks faced pressure on a decade-high 20.3 percent of their dropbacks. We could see those numbers diverge even further in 2017." The NFL’s Crisis on Offense - The Ringer
  4. Closed districting will always get in the way. The next redistricting in Boone County will see Boone expanding its district into areas now assigned to Ryle and Cooper. Boone is not growing, Ryle and Cooper are.
  5. No disrespect to Coach Dale. I simply am speculating that talent drop influenced his retirement timing. I am a spouse of a coach. I understand completely the sacrifices involved.
  6. The loser of this game is playing for draft position. Don't look for many points in this one!
  7. Doesn't like a quarter the male enrollment play? I can remember HHS fielding rosters of 100+, not including freshman.
  8. Another SK blow out over an overmatched opponent.
  9. So what is your explanation for the dramatic drop in talent level? Furthermore, the timing of Dale's retirement suggests he knew this was coming.
  10. That's a pretty arrogant position to take. You are basically conceding the LOS. OL is just an undervalued position. Another thing I've noticed is that as offensive tackles have gotten more athletic to combat speed rushers, defenses are starting to adjust by putting bull rushers on the edge.
  11. I had this observation as well. It seems that there are a lot of inexperienced offensive linemen starting in the NFL. Is this a position that owners just don't want to pay for?
  12. lasting program. The HHS HC discussion got me to thinking about the responsibilities of Head Coach. Is it to just coach whoever walks in the door, or, is it to build a program which infers influence over who walks in the door. By influencing who comes in the door, I mean generating enthusiasm in the community and by extension feeder programs. Does the varsity program engage the youth through camps, promotions and acknowledgements? Is this a reasonable expectation for a HC in exchange for compensation that does not pay a lot of the bills?
  13. On the offensive side of the ball, yes. On the defensive side of they ball they have neither speed, size or depth.
  14. Do the HHS faithfull really think that Dale could have won with this level of talent? Clearly, kids who were flocking to HHS years ago are going else where now. Has there been lost connection with the youth program?
  15. Games and opponents like this really dampen the enthusiasm for attending. 28 - 0 after 6 minutes of the 1st quarter. Please please please schedule Scott County , Lafayette, X or Male.
  16. Why do you perceive disengagement from the feeder programs? I know dixie runs a camp for their feeder schools. Don't they also acknowledge their feeder programs during half time? Do they offer free admission for their feeder youth?
  17. If Barker does, he won't be happy, because that would be an interception! Fogle plays for EKU.
  18. UK football: EKU-Kentucky roommates go head-to-head this week | Lexington Herald Leader Roomates opposing each other on the field.
  19. Key on Chism every play and make someone else beat you. Run blitz, run blitz, run blitz!
