That's a pretty arrogant position to take. You are basically conceding the LOS. OL is just an undervalued position. Another thing I've noticed is that as offensive tackles have gotten more athletic to combat speed rushers, defenses are starting to adjust by putting bull rushers on the edge.

I had this observation as well. It seems that there are a lot of inexperienced offensive linemen starting in the NFL. Is this a position that owners just don't want to pay for?

Is it to just coach whoever walks in the door, or, is it to build a program which infers influence over who walks in the door. By influencing who comes in the door, I mean generating enthusiasm in the community and by extension feeder programs. Does the varsity program engage the youth through camps, promotions and acknowledgements? Is this a reasonable expectation for a HC in exchange for compensation that does not pay a lot of the bills?

Why do you perceive disengagement from the feeder programs? I know dixie runs a camp for their feeder schools. Don't they also acknowledge their feeder programs during half time? Do they offer free admission for their feeder youth?
