  1. Not a reliable source. That is why I said I was waiting for more facts before rendering judgement.
  2. I'm waiting to find out if this was politically motivated violence. Country music tends to attract conservative minded folks, and from what I have heard so far, the shooter subscribed to liberal politics. Events that concentrate certain sections of the population, might need to have their security rethought.
  3. History is irrelevant to personal decision making and values.
  4. "see full article CNN's Don Lemon says more than 72 percent of African-American births are out of wedlock | PolitiFact" I reiterate, the black community has bigger problems than racism. Hebrews, Asians and Hispanics all suffer from discrimination as well, yet , are relatively successful. In fact, the first 2 are more successful than whites. Should whites go out and protest that they are not as successful as these two minority groups?
  5. In addition to the conspiracy theorists who write in the absence of facts, you have the media communicating information without vetting anything. I read one report that said the shooter was a multi millionaire real estate investor, and another that said he was heavily in debt.
  6. The venue was virtually undefendable from the elevated position of the hotel room. In the process of filing a permit for this type of event, a threat analysis should have been performed and the venue nixed, as the organizers of the concert had no control over the hotel access.
  7. That concerts are very soft targets and need to be hardened.
  8. We will have to wait on the details, but even if obtained legally ( of which I am skeptical) how does registered ownership of multiple automatic weapons not raise red flags? Also, were there no lessons learned from the Ariana Grande concert attack in the UK?
  9. Does anybody have any info regarding the legality of the weapons used? It seems some may have been illegal under the automatic rifle ban. Here is one article. Please post more. How the Las Vegas Shooter Could Have Gotten an Automatic Rifle | WIRED I read somewhere that the shooter had remote fire weapons in the hotel room. Wow if true!
  10. I don't think I can recall a weaker year for 6A football as a whole.
  11. What exactly have racial protests accomplished over the last 30 years? Distraction from high murder and abortion rates in urban black communities? Urban black communities have bigger problems than racism, but, focusing on racism takes the focus off of problems such as family deterioration, under valuing education, poor role models etc.
  12. The murders you hear about, are the ones that are politically exploitable to reinforce a narrative.
  13. Prayers and sympathy to all the victims and their families. My question is how do we respond to this kind of tragedy? In the modern world of Data Analytics, behaviour can be predicted based upon online social footprints, personal metadata and purchasing history. If applied to law enforcement however, we would most certainly have objections based on anti profiling principles. How do we balance liberty and security? I have to wonder how someone with a dozen or more automatic weapons does not pop up on domestic terror threat matrix?
  14. What would you acceptable rate of police assassinations be?
  15. Wrong question. The right question is : Why is there so much focus on the very small amount of police shootings, compared to the very large amount of black on black shootings? Could it be that liberal political leadership wishes to guide its constituency to focus on racial issues (real and perceived), so that accountability for other issues is avoided? Racial tension is promoted by those who wish to politically harvest it. Why is there no need for a "National Conversation" for the shooting in a white church by a black man in Tennessee recently?
  16. Police -- Racism Isn’t Why Black Men Get Shot | National Review "Even the Post itself has noted the relevant data in the past. “In 74 percent of all fatal police shootings, the individuals had already fired shots, brandished a gun or attacked a person with a weapon or their bare hands,” the paper reported in 2015. “Another 16 percent of the shootings came after incidents that did not involve firearms or active attacks but featured other potentially dangerous threats.” Read more at: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/449505/police-shootings-black-men-race-not-reason-causal-effect"
  17. How do these guys get athletics jobs in KY after what happened in Fairview?
  18. My reading of the allegations thus far tells me it was more about getting players to endorse Adidas apparel, although that does imply funneling of players to programs with Adidas contracts.
  19. No UL defendants implicated. Those at UL may just be implicating other participants.
  20. I didn't see any UL coaches implicated in the list of coaches mentioned. Seems to be a little bit of an overreaction to me.
  21. This is just breaking, so not a lot of details available yet. BREAKING NEWS / NBC: The FBI has arrested several NCAA asst. basketball coaches in a corruption scheme. 22. Was this a case of a Western Conference team traveling east and sucking wind(See Broncos vs Bills)? I expected great things from the raiders this year?
  23. I don't have to look at the head lines to know that the league has condoned the player protests (other that Jerry Jones). The league has taken NO ACTION on this issue. That is implicit approval! Just like in coaching, you coach it, or you allow it. the NFL is allowing it!
  24. Now that the league has condoned the kneeling protests of the anthem, the political barrier is removed from signing Kap. If he is not signed now, it is purely based upon an evaluation of skill.
  25. Perhaps later in the season, but not preseason. Lots of injuries to key players.
