  1. Steelers. Just because they're my team and that's what you do.
  2. Pretty sure the Birds will win this one. Not sure whether it will be Blue or Red.
  3. I know you can't put a lot of stock in summer ball but Grant co. impressed me when I watched them at the tournament in Shelby co. They lost their first game to Ballard. Then came back to win five games in a row. They beat Saint X, Adair co.,Pleasure Ridge Park,Eastern and Lincoln co. They don't really wow you but they're a pretty scrappy bunch.
  4. I think for the cats to have a chance, they have to slow the game down. Stay close early on and set the pace. If it's a track meet, they get smoked.
  5. Maybe I should have read the previous post. My bad.
  6. I was pretty sure we lost in the first round to Fleming. I remember it was in Vanceburg. We were going to stay over in Aberdeen if we won. It was a long ride home.
  7. I'm pretty sure in 1976 that Grant co. was knocked out of the 10th region first round by Fleming county. We were one of the favorites in the tenth until we ran into a pitcher named Tim Ramey. Not sure if I`m spelling that correct, but he sent us back to Dry Ridge.
  8. When I was in the eighth grade at Corinth elem. , I had a teacher who was also the principal with the last name Turner. And he was from Breathitt county.
  9. I want to see how Keagan Moore from Owen co. and Dylan Hammonds from Grant co. does. Of course they have local connections for me. Should be a ton of real good players in this.
  10. JW Dant. I`m not sure they still make it. My mom and dad used to keep a bottle of it around the house. I think they used it in hot toddies or maybe they used as paint thinner. Not sure. To answer the second question, I would say Colonel Taylor. My son got me a fifth for fathers day and I just didn't`t care for it.
  11. We travel to St. Augustine 2 or 3 times a year and Buc-ees is always on our agenda. My granddaughters love their tee shirts and my sons love the nuggets and jerky. It's red neck heaven.
  12. I'm with you Deuce. Except he is my co- favorite. I have him and Mel Blount right at my top.
  13. I just heard the news that long time Grant County coach CR Wenderoth has passed. He also spent time at Scott high school. He took both the Braves and the Eagles to state tournaments. Not only was he a fine coach but a great human being. Please keep his family in your prayers.
  14. For his size,Carson could play with his back to the basket as well as any one I have seen. He was great at using his body. I also believe he had a little better supporting cast at Owen when he played. Teagan is a scorer. He will light up pretty much anyone they play. Kind of hard to compare them. Both are very gifted and hard working players.
  15. Last year they had to play both on Simon Kenton and Walton`s home court and they wound up the third seed. So I guess it all works out.
  16. I would have always answered Henry County, but Marshall County has won me over. The gym is beautiful and the people down there is as friendly as you will ever meet.
  17. He left the assistant coaching job and moved into an administrative assistants job. And it seems as if he's not there anymore. I have no idea why.
  18. I remember back in 1974, a tornado touched down in Stamping Ground.
  19. Dave Faust is a great coach and good person. Seems every year all he does is win.
  20. It was a a hard fought game. Beechwood is a scrappy team. Their press and match up zone had Grant County struggling on offense all night.
  21. I've been waiting on this and it didn't disappoint. Great job Mike.
