Mercer could fall into the role of Gonzaga if they make it to Lexington. There's absolutely no advantage to playing a soft high school schedule. You need to be challenged so things like free throws down the stretch, 50/50 foul calls, and bad shooting nights don't override the fact that you're in Rupp- and about everyone who knows anything about Kentucky high school basketball thinks you're beatable.

Doss is really good when they shoot it well. Coach Williams has his kids buying in. Last year was another story- I really like the motivating coaches in the 6th. Schooler and Williams get the most out of their teams.

Ballard won two out of three games in Tennessee against the kind of competition that you can't find locally in a holiday tournament. Bad loss against Doss... Other loses were close.

Spain Park looked totally superior. 6-10 big man, 6-4 wing- then Ballard dismantled them. The system the coaches preach is beginning to pay dividends. Tonight's game will only make them better.
