  2. That game will be streamed at http://www.wpsdlocal6.com for those who care to watch.
  3. Off the top of my head, I'm betting it's Reidland, out of the 2A first district. Sorry for the repeat. I posted before reading the rest of the thread. The way it's set up, it's more like the "no cut" teams that they have in a lot of the high school sports. As long as you're including everybody, why not just put each team in their own class and give state title trophies for every team, so nobody gets their feelings hurt for being left out? I think it ought to go back to the 4 class system, and the top 2 teams in each district get to the playoffs, and others can come and watch. Every time you think it can't get more ridiculous, it does.
  4. Just assuming both teams will get that far is assuming a lot this year. I think at least one of them won't make it...
  5. I can't believe this is a legitimate question. You don't have to be Nostradamus to figure this one... FC by as many as they want.
  6. Game will be webcast live on http://www.wpsdlocal6.com and then replayed after midday on Monday.
  7. Was that the PA announcer? Or one of the radio teams? If so, on what frequency was the statement made? I've heard enough in recent years that nothing really surprises me anymore. Good help is hard to find... Especially when radio station owners don't want to pay for it. There are a LOT of people calling games that shouldn't be.
  8. From the video, it looks as if there were few people at the game. I've been to bigger parties... I guess if these two meet again, it'll be in Rocket land...
  9. Chances are, sometime Monday or shortly thereafter, you can watch the archive of this game at http://www.wpsdlocal6.com CC perhaps gave this one away. Nobody knows if they would have hit the field goal, but they didn't give themselves the chance. I think we'll see these two again in November. And barring major injury, meltdown, Lone Oak will be undefeated when they meet again.
  10. Of course, the difference was that Hopkinsville had the athletes to pull it off, whereas other Leslie opponents that year probably didn't. And I think someone above alluded to the fact the LC was likely the first team in LO's schedule this season to have athletes like this, that could pull it off. Sounds good in theory, but if the D is not fast enough, just an extra split second can make a big difference. Robinson was still a very good quarterback.
  11. I saw Hopkinsville do that to Leslie County and Tim Couch 12 years ago in a regular season matchup. Hyped game to the max, and when Hoptown figured out that Leslie wouldn't do anything but throw, they lined up 11 guys on the D line and it was like letting school out for recess. Couch was pulled in the 3rd quarter, and Hoptown won 63-0. Doesn't mean Couch wasn't a great quarterback, Leslie County needed a run game to add to their attack.
  12. An opinion that won't ever be proven. Remember, you can't compare scores.
  13. I'm assuming you don't mean it the way it sounds, but it "sounds" like you're one of the few who know a "LOT" about football. I don't think you have to be Nostradamus to look at the records of these teams' opponents, their schedules, and then the players to assess the outcome. Trust me, I've seen plenty over the years, and knew that a Lone Oak victory was not to be anything short of Divine intervention. Lone Oak would have had to play their best game of the year, and LC would have had to fall apart, and even then, am not sure Lone Oak could have won this game. My issue was the "fraudulent" comment about their achievments, which I still think, was out of order. Being hyped, and firing a blank, there's no argument there. They're not the first to do it, and won't be the last.
  14. They DID beat everyone who lined up against them before the title game. I'm sure the teams from Warren East and North Bullitt appreciate your insight. Look at the pass completion percentage for Robinson. As coach Haskins put it earlier in the season, most teams couldn't complete that number against air. Agreed, they ran into a much better team in LC, but your statement is too generalized, and the "fraudulent" comment is uncalled for.
  15. I'm guessing that this is the first time you have seen LOne Oak play this season? I didn't see the game, but even in listening, if this was my first exposure to Lone Oak, I might think that they were a weak team that had no business there, so I understand how you might think they way you do. This is not the first time a team has ever been blown out in a title game. It even happens in the Super Bowl. Does that mean they don't deserve to be there? Ask Warren East or North Bullitt if they think LO is a weak team. FOotball is a game of matchups, and Lone Oak did not match up with LC, and I don't think there's a team locally here that would. Robinson is still a fantastic quarterback, and if he had more time to throw, he would have proven that fact. His numbers this season were from 14 games, where for the most part only played 3 quarters. His numbers could have been much higher if that was all Lone Oak coaches were concerned with. As great as Tim Couch was, when his Leslie Co team played HOpkinsville in 95, the Tigers brought the house on every play, and Couch barely had time to even take the snap. 63-0, Hoptown final. Could you say that Couch was not a great quarterback? Probably if you only focus on that one performance, but we all know otherwise. I don't believe in making excuses, LC was the better team and proved it. LO coaches knew that before the game, this challenge was the greatest of the season. But for a team that just 6 years ago only scored 19 points in a single season when going 0-10, to make it to a state title game this season, is remarkable. You didn't see the best Lone Oak had to offer in this game, and Lone Oak's best would not have beaten LC, but it would have been more interesting.
  16. Regardless of public opinion, the game will be won and lost on the field. I've seen a lot of strange things happen over the last 25 years. Ask Caldwell County about the underdog role, when they were at least 3 touchdown underdogs to a powerful Danville team in the 2A state finals, only to pull the upset and win the game. Lone Oak might not be favored, but that doesn't automatically count them as the loser. Good luck Flash.
  17. I wouldn't want to take up extra space by starting a new thread, but for those who missed the webcast, it's available on demand at http://www.wpsdtv.com. If you go to sports, there should be some prompts, and you can watch it any time. Tilghman Central game is also available, as well as the past 2 other Lone Oak games... Vs Calloway and North Bullitt.:jump:
  18. According to the information I've been given, http://www.wpsdtv.com plans on streaming the Lone Oak game and the Tilghman game this Friday night. Any issues last week with Lone Oak, were likely due to web overload on that channel, and they hope to be worked out for this week. The Marshall Co feed last week had some delay issues, when a different company handled the streaming, as the TV station was trying to see which one was better. By the way, if you have a newer television, and it has a computer monitor type plug, you can take the output of your computer, hook it to your TV, and watch it on the big screen. I think you also have to right click on the video portion, and it should give you a full screen option.
  19. I think http://www.wpsdtv.com is planning on streaming both the Marshall/St X game and the Lone Oak/N Bullitt game. Not 100% sure...
