Not to be smart, but you wouldn't have to be Nostradamus to figure this one. Quite honestly, Calloway could have named their score on Fulton County. The Pilots are one of the smallest football playing schools in the state, in a very depressed area of the state. Their kids play hard, and regardless of record, they all still have a lot of pride in that area. The people there, are really good fokes. I'm really happy for them when they taste success in anything. Believe it or not, Fulton County beat Mayfield soundly early in the 93 season, before Mayfield ran the table and won the state championship.

Mayfield was in AA in 1993, also. Fulton County made it to the Class A state semifinals that season, too, losing a heartbreaker at home to Bardstown, 7-0.

 

But it's been ten years since Fulton County won a playoff game and not since 1997 have they made a regional final, losing 44-14 to Murray. They've suffered five straight one-and-done playoff appearances and won't be going this season. Here's hoping they make their way back next year.
