Ryle 54 Highlands 51 (9th Region Semi-Final)
dallaslaredo replied to Lawnboy13's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
I really thought this core group of Highlands seniors would have gotten at least one Region title. Lots of talent there. -
Can't recommend this place enough. Never had a bad meal there. The burgers are simply awesome, up there with Terry's Turf Club, and way better than Zip's (and much more reasonable.) Plus they have great soup.

As I've been stating - Burger King is the worst of the worst.
-
So smoking allowed in there? And it filters over to restaurant area? I guess that's why I don't go there.
-
Almost 4 years on last post, so looking for fresh input. I've never been here and I don't drive by this place much, but when I do, the parking lot is packed all the time no matter what night. What's the attraction? What's so great about it?

So, I just sat in a Burger King drive thru for 20 minutes...

You do know you were at Burger King, right? They could give a flip. And your story proves my theory - no one ever purposely plans to go to BK, they end up there because the other places are closed or backed-up. I seriously don't know how BK stays in business...talking strictly Fast Food w/drive-thru's: Chick Fil A and KFC have them beat on the chicken side... Wendy's has them beat on the burger side.... Arby's has them beat on the "let's get something different" side... Taco Bell has them beat on the value side (but you'll regret it later)... Sonic has them beat on drinks and frozen treats... And McDonalds has them beat on whatever is left. A trip to BK is literally the worst option. -
Next District Realignment?

The KCSAA is always an option for schools like Calvary, Heritage, and even Cov Latin. They don't need to stay in the KHSAA. In fact, wouldn't the KCSAA be exactly the right fit for these schools? -

isn't it still in the wrong thread? College player, college game, college results.

Highlands/NewCath Predictions
dallaslaredo replied to D1Son's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I expect Highlands to not show up so they can get back to football "off-season" workouts. -
Think your team had a bad season?
dallaslaredo replied to dallaslaredo's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
Yes, State Champs in 2008/2009 season. 33-1. A'dia Mathies was Ms Kentucky Basketball. Played at UK. 1st round WNBA draft pick. Fast forward 7 years later.... -
Then check out how far Iroquois, a magnet school in Louisville with over 1,000 students, has fallen. Winless, forfeited final 7 games, closest loss in games they played was 31pts, and high water offensive output for the year was 20 points, which happened once. Talk about the wheels falling off. For the record, Silver Grove had a better year than Iroquois.

Since when does "giving it your all" mean anything? If underclassmen are legitimately better, they should play. Would love to know where everyone gets this "Senior entitlement" syndrome from. If you want playing time, earn it. If you want guaranteed playing time, go pay and play at a rec league. But I'll take a Senior who busts his butt in practice, leads in the locker room, knows he isn't going to play much, and cheers from the bench. Those kids are like gold. -
yes. California is in a severe drought.

I disagree. Losses matter. They give the other team hope down the road, and plant seeds of doubt on yours. If records don't matter, then why do we keep score? -

Anyone have Highlands pegged for +7 losses vs last year at same point in season? -
My preferred weather provider last week predicted a large invasion of cold air this week, which happened.
-
I think NWO is burying the headline.. once we hit Tuesday and Wednesday next week, temps will swing above normal across the Commonwealth, and continue to rise into the 50's, 60's and even some places pushing 70 by the end of the week. Any short term winter weather will be long gone by then.

Brossart losing Schultz would be like NCC losing Davenport
