St. X has great facilities and rich alumni. Cov Cath is not in the same league as St. X, it is a lot smaller and does not have a budget even close to St. X. The funny thing is that Urban Meyer was an assistant football Coach at St. X back in the 1980s

I think that a coach needs to mix things up. When I used to coach, the kids hated foot skills, but it is necessary. I think part of the practice needs to focus on this, but foot skills is also something that the players can work on during their own time.

We use Apple TV. Box is like $100 and sinc it with the wireless router in the house.

Does he not like the kids on the soccer team or the coach? At that age my kids were all about the social aspect more the learning skills. My son does soccer year round, but he also does rec volleyball and rec swimming. His friends play on another club team, but the team he is on is the best place for him. What he and his friends have done is they have formed a rec indoor team and get to play together during the winter. They have a blast, they all play for different club teams, but just like to hang together and play some ball.

When my daughter used to play soccer, the high school coach put it to a vote of the parents whether the school should continue with the all a tournament. The coach said that scheduling was hard because you never knew when you could get knocked out. If the school was knocked out early it left a hole in the schedule. The parents voted to not continue doing the tournament. I do not know what the issue is, but that is why her high school decided to stop the tourney

Always disappointing to see how few soccer scholarships are out there for boys. Can not compete with football and Title IX so a lot of big schools do not even offer a soccer team. Even the SEC does not sponsor Men's soccer. I think they should just do away with Men's college soccer at Division 1 and expand the PDL for these kids.

I only use this app when I am traveling. It uses a lot of data and I do not have unlimited data. If I used this every day I would use up my data plan fast. The information is based on the people who have the app and report stuff. If you are on less traveled roads, the information will not be that updated. If you are in the city or a major highway, the information is usually pretty good. It warns of accidents and alternative routes and slow traffic. I agree with the electronics and tracking issues (Person of Interest). You have to wonder if we will ever be able to get off the grid in the future.

I use this app and it works great. Doesn't freedom of speech allow this? I should be able to tell others when an officer is out on a public highway clocking people

I have never been a big fan of 8th graders playing JV. If it is high school sports, why are the coaches giving spots to kids that are not even in the high school? Also, my daughter's high school has a policy that does not put juniors on JV for soccer. Last year there were only 3 spots available on Varisty and there were around 12 girls that were juniors that had previously played JV. I think only 4 juniors tried out for varsity and one junior was cut from varsity. The other girls just quit playing. The school lost a lot of good players.

No mention of Willie Cauley Stein here. First team all state football in high school. I say let the kids play whatever they want to play. I told my kids they have to play something (anything) in their offseason because I wanted them off the couch! My daughter played soccer since she was 4 years old, last year she decided she wanted to try something else and I said go for it. She switched over to cross country and had a blast. Did her prior experience with soccer help her? I do not know, but she has always pushed herself and that came from somewhere.

It is a joke. I do not know what they are selling but I doubt it is food. I was talking to a guy who delivered beer and he said his deliveries to the Korean place were always larger than the Speedway next door.

With the championship game tonite I started researching Chicken Wings. I saw some recipes to do them in slow cooker, anyone try this? It is too late for me to do it for tonight but would like to know if anyone has done it.

Thanks for the pics, they were great. If you look at the course caution tape, it give you an idea of how windy it was. It was snowing when we showed up. All these kids are amazing athletics and took on the elements like champions. St. Henry girls are running strong and should have a great weekend at the Horsepark. St. Henry boys started off strong, but Bishop Brossart did a great job finishing. Cooper boys finished together 1-4. Everyone was yelling for them not to hold hands at the finish due to a possible DQ. Best of luck to everyone at the Horsepark this weekend.

What is going on with the U13 NKY boys teams? None of them are having good fall seasons. Where is the talent going? I think Buckeye is dipping into the CUSL teams. The U13 boys only have 3 divisions. My son has played teams in Wilmington and in Dayton that were recently added. I also saw that Independence Soccer Club is now in CUSL.

State is November 8th at the Horse Park. This weekend is the Lexington Catholic Invitational at the Horse Park, should be a good primer for state. BB boys and SH boys will be there, as well as the SH girls and Hancock County girls. It will be good to see these teams compete on the state course this weekend.

Sorry about that. Yes the BB and SH boys. SH boys beat the BB boys at the Diocese of Covington Championship, and BB boys beat the SH boys at the SH invitational. Very close races. The SH girls seem to be in good shape for State, all are healthy and running great. I think the main team competition will be from Hancock County in 1A. Louisville Presentation has a great #1 runner that should take state individual championship.

Saint Henry race was this past weekend at Idlewild. Good Showcase of Northern Kentucky talent. Cooper won the boys easily, they should be really strong down state. St. Henry won the girls followed by Simon Kenton. Saint Henry is back to full strength and running strong. Flairty won the girls for Campbell County and looked really strong. Sloppy course and slow times. Saint Henry boys are fighting thorough some injuries and illnesses and lost to Bishop Broshart. Should be a good matchup down state between BB and SH. Teams look pretty even.

I am not from Central Kentucky, but our team has raced against Madison Central and they seem to have a pretty good team. Check out ky.milesplit.com it has all the Ky teams, times and race results.

Great weather at the Horse Park this weekend. Wolken from Mercy won the girls race in a sub 19:00 time. St. Henry Girls ran well and placed third. Hentz was back and she ran 19:30. Svec was out with injury, but the rest of the runners had great times. Blades was back and ran the JV race and won it overall. She will be back on varsity next week after nursing an injury.

I think Cov Cath starting a middle school football program has helped them and hurt BW. All the kids used to play for the Spartans before the Middle School Program at Cov Cath started.

Thanks! The Cru did not have Blades back for Elizabethtown and it looks like Epplen is still not at full strength. Both practiced last night so I think they should be ready for Rumble in the Jungle this weekend in Oldham. The rest of the team is looking good.
