Bowling Green is Trinity's home opener next season. If I were the Rocks, I think I'd try to move the game to PJCS.

I don't know Hockman from Bryson, but if you are hanging our hat on Bryson taking his team to the final unlike Hockman you are on shaky ground. This is the first year that NKY 4A had a path to the final that didn't include a date with the Rocks. Old system, same result IMO. I firmly believe that this Ryle team would have finished third or fourth in either Louisville district. JMO.

Please, please, please... lets not drop the "smack you in the mouth" reference in connection with Trinity. Leave that one (along with "smash-mouth") to the rest of the football world. The day that the Rocks run through a paper banner with some "smash-mouth" slogan is the day I turn in my lucky power T hat.

The weather and the Thur/Fri schedule killed the attendance this year. Could there have been a higher profile match-up in 4A? Sure, but that can't happen every year. The weather and schedule eliminated all but the diehard fans of each team. No casual high school football fan sits in the rain on a work/school night to watch the 4A final. No casual fan braves temp.s in the 20s with 30-40 MPH winds to watch 2A,1A and 3A on a weekday. I was at the 2A game and planned to stay for the 1A contest. When the 2A concluded we had a two hour break before the 1A kickoff. Sorry, I went home with the intention of returning for the 3A at least. An hour prior to the 7:30 kickoff I couldn't talk myself into going back into the blast freezer. My attendance was down, and it had nothing to do with the match-ups.

That was a "finesse" play. Hey, if Trinity is a "finesse" team they are going to run "finesse" plays.

I'm thinking that the Bowling Green folks are beginning to hate PJCS.

That may be true, but from a Trinity perspective I favor the Dixie team in 02. Trinity had a tight game with Dixie at home. The Rocks had to travel to Boone the next week and blasted the Rebels 41-3 at their place. JMO.

Dixie was one of Trinity's toughest games in 02 as well. Rocks won 31-16 I think. Considering how good that Rock squad was, thats not too bad.

Right off the top without much research, I'd say that the Dixie teams of 02 and 04 were better.

That was a very good team. Only Trinity team to defeat MBA. Big win over Javon Ringer and Dayton Chaminade. Sadly, as the season progressed this squad became Trinity's version of team turmoil. I contend to this day that if they would have managed to defeat Dixie they could have advanced to the final and in a one game senario with the Tigers... well who knows.

No, they lost 14-7 to X. I rank them this way: 2002 simply awesome 2001 better D than 02 but Brohm was unreal in 02 2005 best secondary since 01 2006 Petrino carried this team across the finish line 2003 not a great team, Brian refused to lose after a shaky start

I was refering to Russell. Of course if you run the ball effectively and get the lead it usually works out. But what if Russell could pass and went ahead with a pass and a catch with a couple of minutes to go? Mercer likely would have suffered the same fate that Russell did. I don't get why people are so reluctant to throw the ball a little more.

Wow, a drive-by negative Trinity post on a post about the 2A final. No offense IAmAFan, but if you take T and X out of the mix your team gets beat by Male or Ballard or Manual or Henry Clay and so on. I attended the Mercer/Russell game. Once again lack of balance was the culprit. If Russell had a better passing attack they would be celebrating their back to back titles. Learn to throw the ball. Embrace it. Love it. Its not evil. I promise.

He was on the staff at Blue Springs that became successful. He eventually became HC there and improved upon that. He took over a T program that was a little down. The Rocks hadn't won a title since 94' and only played in one other losing to X in 97'. He defeated St.X in his first year and lost in the title game. Since then its been a title every year except when X was allowed their momentary short stroke of the pendulum (so much for OX's "tic-toc" posts"):lol: . The system surrounding Trinity is great, but Bob is pretty darn good as well.

They are welcome at my table. I never put much stock in that kind of motivation in the past but I saw it happen this week. Even otherwise mild mannered coaches took offense. The boys took it as a challenge to their manhood.
