So they don't lift or run any during the off season?? I find that hard to believe. They are doing nothing at Bell Co. right now and haven't since December.

Some of the drop in attendance is from the new "Redbook" rules dealing with school finances. The same goes for the State football finals. Not many coaches are going to these events like they used too.

He may not have the coaching strength in place yet to hold a real spring practice? Maybe just installing new concepts for O and D? Spring practice can be overrated at a lot of schools bc of numbers. Without the ability to scrimmage another school you are limited to beating on each other for 10 days.

Tennessee does this also. In fact most of the Southern states do.

I am sure they are waiting for a Site base meeting. They can't deviate at all from the rules on this 1. Each side is just waiting for someone to mess up.

There comes a point where you don't have enough Coaches to coach the kids. That is when it becomes a problem. Not sure how many asst. coaches HHS has. Duffy always said he just needed 24 dedicated bodies.

Frazier is already at Whitley started last month. Mills and Hoskins will both be somewhere else next year. The situation is a dumpster fire and anyone that can leave will.

Coming very soon. It is pathetic the way this entire thing has been done. They will never find another HC or staff that will treat and work for the kids as good as the bunch they let go. Most of them are Bell Co. people with deep ties and love the community and kids. Ask anyone that has played them, they did a pretty darn good job coaching. They never did it for the PATHETIC pay or the appreciation (or lack there of) from the Administration. It will never recover IMO. They have really separated the former players from supporting the program from the way things were done. That is the guys that coach the youth leagues and go to every game.

10 years from now Absolutely NOBODY will want to coach in KY!! It is sickening what is happening in our state. The majority of people doing the hiring and firing have NO CLUE. We are no longer picking leaders to run our schools we are picking people that have no leadership skills.

No support at any level of Administration. Population decline means more than just kids leaving the area. Also a loss of funds to support the program and jobs for coaches. Not good at all. When the Administration allowed the MS program to slip it has had a HUGE effect on the future. Also no TRUE MIDDLE SCHOOL makes it hard as well. The Soph and JR classes for the upcoming season were forgotten in MS and talent becomes a issue. Not the kids fault just the truth. Humfleet will have a hard time with what is returning for him. A very young and inexperienced offense will mean 100% focus will be on him. Going to be tough sledding. No off-season weights is a troublesome factor as well. With Graduation being hard on the team this was not a year to have NO off-season weights. The common thread with all Bell Co. teams is strength and good OL/DL. That will not be the case for a few years.

Clay County and Knox Central in SEKY. Corbin was 1 of the first to get 1 statewide.

All are great pints and I agree with them. Bottom line most administrations don't care! The ones that do continue to have success and it shows.

The school can't release them but they can check the boxes to make the process much easier. Just depends on the sending school.

I think almost all coaches want to see their players go on to the next level. I have however saw a coach or 2 not want any players to go on, didn't want anyone to think he had talent. Made his coaching look that much better if nobody was going to college. Of course some schools produce a lot more just because of numbers. At Bell the average has been 2-3 every year. This year will be 2 I would imagine.

Very good football player well deserved. It can be hard to get college coaches down in these mountains to see our kids. Glad the Belfry boys are getting some love.

COULD return 4 starters on offense and 5 on defense. All 5 OL were seniors, QB was 4 year starter and lost 2nd leading rusher and recivier.

The new staff at EKU lived at our high school recruiting. 2nd day on the job Coach Elder was in our school. Every week after someone was in the halls. Years past could not even get them to answer the phone. Ben Madon from here ended up Being all conference but transferred in. Previous staff did not offer him. Coach Elder and his staff have made it known KY kids are his priority. What they can't get in KY they will look elsewhere.

Great advice. The spring of Freshman year is time to start going to camps. Anytime before then you are really just burning money. I would spend that on speed/strength training.

I am sure for retirement reasons he wants to return. Word now in Bell co is the "brain trust" is trying to lure an assistant from Louisville Iroquois? No idea of a name.
