Casey County 53 Bell County 14
Bell continues to regress under McCreary. Sad thing is the hardest part of the schedule is the next 2 games. Worst coaching hire of all-time. Congrats to Casey.

Whitley County 20 Bell County 6
Things just keep getting worse. Team is regressing.

Knox Central 21 Bell County 19 (scrimmage)
The McCreary's better give thanks every night that they inherited some pretty good players or they would be Terrible. It is worse than many feared.

Most Talented Player *On An Opposing Team* That You've Ever Seen Play
On the field and court hands down #1 NFL draft pick Tim Couch. From the sideline, Mike Mitchell and Lamar Dawson.

Powell County 2016
Continue the positive movement under HC Brewer. 2015 was 1 of the best seasons in history and they lose a good group but have some key players returning. They play good football and will have a chance to win the district again. They host favorite Estill in a huge showdown.

Bigger, stronger, faster: How redshirting is changing H.S. sports
Agree 100%

Middlesboro 2016
Bring back a nice group of skilled players with QB Elliott, WR Jackson and RB Williams. All with big play ability. Also added an out of state transfer who could play QB and allow Ellitott to be moved all over the offense. Defense should be better with a years maturity but the glaring weakness continues to be along the front lines. 4-5 regular season wins is possible. The loaded district makes things really tough. Don't think they are ready to compete with LCA, Danville or Somerset.

Do any KY high schools use "High and Tight" Footballs in practice?
Helmets have had sensors for a couple of years now. They will alert the trainer/ staff of high impact. They are very expensive this they are mostly used in college. Don't think I have seen them in pros?

Low numbers at Newport
Well said!

Waggener's Jairus Brents ran a 4.33 at Ohio State today.
Well done. Amazing measurables. I am sure some negative nancy will be along soon.

The Most Painful Loss Your Team Ever Took?
2004 to Mike Mitchell and HHS. We actually won that game after the forfeit but should have won it on the field anyway. Mitchell scored every TD. HHS had only given up around a 100 yds rushing all year. We had over 100 at the end of the 1st quarter. I have no doubt we would have beaten a down Boyle team the next week in Louisville. Of course Mitchell didn't play in the state championship. 2009 to Boyle. Very close to finishing back to back seasons 15-0. Still don't know where that damn kicker came from!!!

Ten Good Programs In Bad Situations
Not used to seeing Bell on a list like this. Things are not going to turn around anytime soon. Zero Varsity coaches are returning for Bell and so far only 2 assistant coaches on staff neither with Varsity experience. Really sad.

Mercer County Titans Tailback ran a 4.6 laser timed 40 today at UK
Great time for the kid!! With that size may end up being a DB in college. Some of you guys need to live in the real world. 4.6 laser is pretty darn fast. Very few true 4.4 or even 4.5 guys in HS football. Most don't even know how to run the 40 for optimum time anyway at the HS level. It's not madden.

Breathitt County 2016
I don't think Holcomb will be back helping in Jackson. Breathit will be right in the thick of things with Estill IMO for the district Championship. I still think Estill is the favorite and will win it. Powell lost a lot of pieces and will be playing catch-up but I would not count them out.

Has Jamie Dalzell been named the new Grant County head football coach?
They can with a Coaching job. Teaching job no.

"I'm one parent away from being unemployed"
Sad situation playing out across our country. In 20 years a football coach will be a thing of the past. It is become more headache than it is worth. The pay typically sucks already but now all the other stuff makes it unbearable. Coaches in general do great work with young people but 1 story true or false can ruin a coach.

Corbin Redhounds - 2015 Grade
I am going with B+. Played a bunch of Young kids and took some lumps early to good teams. Really played well later in the season except the KC game which I discussed earlier.
-
Corbin Redhounds - 2015 Grade
Almost have to throw the KC game out. QB was hurt and was only handing off, that took away 75% of the offense. Had 2 other players out and KC was up 21-0 with 3 min into the game. Couple of freak plays early Led to walk in TD's. Blocked punt and tipped ball, I think??? Pups pulled the plug with the playoff's coming up.

Harlan 2016
He did look elsewhere but decided to turn down Bell to stay at Harlan. Probably a good decsion.

Harlan County 2016
Sorry I posted this in the Harlan IND thread originally by mistake. The Bears should be better in Coach Creech's 2nd year. They return a good part of the offense and defense. Finding a RB will be key. I would say they are district favorites and could finish 7-3 or even 8-2 in regular season.
-
Corbin Redhounds - 2015 Grade
I would grade them at B+/A-. Lost a ton of talent from previous season. Had some injuries during the season that caused some up and down play. QB was banged up against KC and really makes them a different team. When he is healthy they can move the ball against anyone, even Belfry to some extent. Possibly better than anyone else did against the Pirates but obviously still came up very short of winning at Pond Creek.

Wayne County Cardinals - 2015 Grade
Very good football team. With only 3 loses on the season in 2015 to 3 really good teams. Coach Thompson is 1 of the underrated coaches in the state. They were a few plays away from advancing to the state finals. My grade would be A. They will be district favorite again in 2016.

Harlan 2016
My bad, somehow I saw Harlan Co. Too much time on the road and not enough sleep. Speaking of Harlan Green, I really wish JB had came to Bell Co. Instead we have a coach that don't want to do much.

Amos McCreary Is Bell County's New Head Coach
So what is wrong with the feeder system? Do you mean the youth leagues or Middle School? Just looking for clarification. Our youth leagues are in pretty decent shape but not sure if the support will continue because those teams were coached by the coaches from the previous staff and some former players. The middle school is not really a middle school, that does cause problems. We have 6 k-8 schools spread throughout the county with 2 schools having little to no involvement in sports.
