Corbin Redhounds - 2015 Grade

Featured Replies

Corbin Redhounds Final Grade: C

The Redhounds had 2 nice wins over Bell Co, but may have played some of their best ball in a run of losses to quality opponents early in the season. Losses to Danville, Southwestern and Mayfield IMO don't diminish their season one bit. The Redhounds also made it one game away from the State Finals falling to a very good and eventual Champion Belfry Team.

A shutout loss to Knox Central in the last game of the regular season, being the most baffling result on their ledger.

I give the Redhounds a C, they beat who they were supposed to beat and lost to who we expected them to lose to.

What Grade do you give them and why?

C

I think a C is a fair grade.

2015 was a decent yet an uninspiring season for the Redhounds.

An A is whats expected.

So what is your grade for the Redhounds?

I would have to give them a B due to the fact they exceeded most of the fan's expectations. They had to replace close to 20 starters from the previous year, which included about 90% of their offensive production. They were inconsistent, especially on the offensive line, but the coaching staff kept experimenting with different combinations of players on the line and by the playoffs they were much better.

I may have to give Coach Haddix an A- for the job he was able to do while starting several freshman and sophomores, along with several seniors who had never really played much varsity football before.

I'm going with a B.

Corbin always has the athletes to play and they know how to play thanks to a very good feeder system.

They should never and I mean never have a down year with the talent pool they get from the feeder system and other feeder systems.

Heard today that Corbin may be getting 3 transfer kids.

Heard that is for a different thread.

I would grade them at B+/A-. Lost a ton of talent from previous season. Had some injuries during the season that caused some up and down play. QB was banged up against KC and really makes them a different team. When he is healthy they can move the ball against anyone, even Belfry to some extent. Possibly better than anyone else did against the Pirates but obviously still came up very short of winning at Pond Creek.

Corbin was a good football team this year. Playing Belfry, Bell County, Danville, and whoever else. Redhounds are coming together.

I'll curve then to a B+

How do you get to a B+?

The curve helps. The only game that looks bad is that 36-0 loss at home to Knox. A tough game against Danville, SW, and Mayfield gave me a solid opinion on Haddix and Corbin.
