I think those are the 2 biggest issues with Bell, as of now. It seems that there are a billion names flying around as tho whom the new hire might be, and everybody seems pretty divided on who it should be.

 

Aside from those things, I think some of the stuff that would really benefit Bell are out of their control. The declining coal industry is hurting the population of the area. It's sad for the schools that their numbers are shrinking, but it's sad for the families being forced to relocate due to the lack of jobs.

 

Bell will always be who they are, and nothing is going to change that. With that said, I think an outsider might be needed. Someone who isn't of the Dudley tree. Not saying a different offensive and defensive philosophy, but just someone who isn't a direct connection to a legend.

 

Bell has a lot to build off of, but I'm not sure the expectations on Log Mountain are currently where they need to be.

#3 Keep Humfleet at Bell.

 

Messy situation right now for sure but the one thing going Bell's way is one of the better returning backs in the State plays for them. With the rumor mill saying he may be interested in playing for District Rival Corbin... it would be vital to any form of success to make sure Humfleet returns in Blue rather than Red.

I know that the administration doesn't care and most of the fan base doesn't understand what is about to happen to the program.

That's a rough situation to go into, then. I hate it for such a tradition rich school.

No support at any level of Administration. Population decline means more than just kids leaving the area. Also a loss of funds to support the program and jobs for coaches. Not good at all. When the Administration allowed the MS program to slip it has had a HUGE effect on the future. Also no TRUE MIDDLE SCHOOL makes it hard as well. The Soph and JR classes for the upcoming season were forgotten in MS and talent becomes a issue. Not the kids fault just the truth. Humfleet will have a hard time with what is returning for him. A very young and inexperienced offense will mean 100% focus will be on him. Going to be tough sledding. No off-season weights is a troublesome factor as well. With Graduation being hard on the team this was not a year to have NO off-season weights. The common thread with all Bell Co. teams is strength and good OL/DL. That will not be the case for a few years.

It has been the biggest mess I have ever witnessed in my entire life.
