It rotates ever year where its played so you have to wait your turn for home court advantage..that's pretty fair.

The two best All A teams in the region played Friday night. Had Marshall Bacon not been out early in the year which caused the loss to affect Mayfield's seeding, it would have been a Murray/Mayfield final. If Mayfield breaks a few of those back court presses they would have beaten Murray. Good game. Good luck Murray.

Should be a Mayfield/Murray Championship game. At home Mayfield beats both Ballard and St Mary. Oh well.

Not at all. Mayfield thumped those guys! Home cooking doesn't put 91 points on the board. Actually Carlisle Co led the foul battle all night meaning they had less fouls than Mayfield most of the night. Home cooking is calling a foul against Mayfield with .06 seconds on a half court heave to put Carlisle on the line to win the game.

Looks like I nailed it on Mayfield/Carlisle game. Mayfield put on a clinic and scored 91 points and won by 20. Nice Work Cardinals! Carlisle Coach followed the ref across the floor at the end of the game yelling in his ear, clearly enraged. What was that about?

Its a shame Mayfield may have to go through Murray to get to the final because they can beat any team left on the other side at home because they already have.

Gotcha..I haven't seen the brackets..just talking out loud on the matchups. Murray would be a tough out for Mayfield due to the limited bench for Mayfield but home court can even things up more. I think Mayfield beats Carlisle.

The tourney is at Mayfield this year and that gives them the edge for sure. Also, OT loss by Mayfield to Carlisle at Carlisle this year without Bacon at 100% in a lot of that game and the refs being the most effective 6th man in that game for Carlisle like they always are down there. Bacon back healthy again now and back to averaging about 20 per game. Bright looking more comfortable and Felts playing more aggressively. Guthrie steeping up nicely and Romans a beast at handling the ball. All that with home court advantage in the All A equals win over Carlisle. Mayfield also beat Ballard a couple nights ago at Mayfield and beat St. Mary at Mayfield. Again, given home court advantage where it seems is the only place that the officials hesitate to take pleasure in calling fouls on Mayfield. I see a Mayfield/Murray final.

Bottom line. If Sindelar doesn't get Mr. Football, he goes on social media and sends congrats to whomever did because as I understand it from Caldwell folks, that's the kind of kid he is and his folks should be proud of not only the football player but the young man. The responses from other candidates that did not get it, underscores exactly why the shouldn't have gotten it and didn't deserve it.

What about Mayfield in the top 10 amongst all 5 and 6A......nice!!!

With talk of defections from McCracken County to Mayfield next year in the air, the best in the lower three classes could be solidly Mayfield, not that it isn't already.

Beechwood as I said earlier was the better team. I liked Beechwoods athletes better. BW running back Consistently gashed Mayfield for big yards...WB RB wasn't that impressive to me. If WB receivers don't make those over the top catches which likely wouldn't happen again (because you see catches even in the pro's like that just a few times a year) then Mayfield has their blowout. BW seemed to be the kind of team that could beat you without any crazy catches or big plays. I think BW puts together consistent performance every play...I just dont think WB could do that again. Its like when teams play the KY wildcats at basketball ..... Everyone plays their best game against them and cant do it twice in a row.

Joe Morris at Mayfield. He has taken a team to 6 straight state title games and most recently won 3 in a row which is a first at Mayfield. Given Mayfield's success for years that even stands out as a huge feat. Also I believe Mayfield just moved into the #4 all time wins spot in the country.

talking about this years teams of course....Beechwood was the better team IMO. I said that within an hour of the trophy headed back to Mayfield. Mayfield won both games by capitalizing on the mistakes of both teams. Beechwood scared me right till the whistle. I never got in a panic with WBurg like I did BW if you can believe that given the scores of both games. That is no slight to WBurg but I think if we play Wburg 10 times and Mayfield wins 8...if we play BW 10 times the may best us on half. The reason I say that is this. Beechwood knows what its like and what it takes to consistently win games at that level and WBurg doesn't and that attitude will carry you further.

I went ahead and booked a room in BG next year.

Let me simplify this. Williamsburg went to the red zone 5 TIMES and came away with 6 points. They may have outperformed Mayfield on total offensive yards gained but they don't award points for that. The superior team doesn't go inside the 5 on 5 occasions and come out with 2 field goals. The superior team STOPS the other team from scoring 5 times in the red zone THEN scores enough touchdowns and kicks enough extra points on offense to beat the other team. The rest of this is nonsense. And LUCKY as one poster says had nothing to do with it. :ohbrother:

And to the Williamsburg player that made the taunting cuckoo bird gesture to Johnny Hernandez after he blocked him in the back ...who's head is spinning now?

Marshall Bacon for Mayfield led the team on offensive yards. Particularly clutch catches on critical 3rd downs to keep chains moving

I do not believe that Russelville is in the same class with Mayfield/Beechwood/Williamsburg

For What its worth IMO...Beechwood would have also beat Williamsburg today. I still believe, as I have said before that the State Championship was played last Friday night at Beechwood.

That is a fine idea they can play the first round at Beachwood and the championship game at Williamsburg
