Im ok with everything you said. I stand behind weak schedule which can lead to being over rated though. We were balanced as heck though. I knew the bad game against Russellville was coming though.

Bright was awesome tonight and credit Bacons numerous clutch 3rd down catches for keeping the chains moving and setting up those scores. Bacon had an excellent game tonight. Arnett was awesome. Defense was outstanding..McCampbell big game tonight. These guys were firing on all cylinders.

I'm not sure I can go with that. I would say that all the starters will play until the bitter end UNLESS an slight injury occurs to a key player during the game and they sit them out at that point. For example...I can imagine that if Mayfield players can get to Caldwell's QB that he's going to be hit....hard.

Sounds like the D and the Special teams have leaned on the offense all year at Caldwell. All the pressure is on Caldwell to win this game..preserve the 10-0 regular season, playing away from home, huge crowd, starters having to play an entire game maybe for the second time all year and fairly a weak schedule before Mayfield and the best defense Caldwell will have seen all year.....could be a special night for the Cards.:greyalien:

WOW. That says a lot that Mayfield won this game then. If that was 3 weeks of prep for a pretty good team then that speaks louder about Mayfield because Mayfield didn't spend 3 weeks prepping for Russelville.

All jokes aside. I do believe you have to look at this team in relation to other teams that we have played this year that is the same schedule we played last year. If you look at it through that glass then were pretty good this year and as good as last year based on the same margins of victories this year over the same schedule as last year...everyone has the same chance to be better or worse and based on this year..were pretty good. As good as last year? That's all relative. We don't have all the same players as last year so you cant compare. I take every year as its own..don't look back..last years team isn't playing. Trust me...next year Caldwell will be lost...BUT relative to who they play next year they may be really good...take it a year at a time. I still like Mayfield in this one.

I like Mayfield in this one at home. I will agree that our passing game has to get going Friay night and we have to have as much height as possible in the defesive secondary to guard the pass. They are going to attack the mismatch as much as possible with the passing game. What do you do with a 6'8" reciever? Bacon is 6'3"-6'4"...so hes got to be out there somewhere on D. Bright will match you for speed but he is vulnerable height wise as a corner. I think Sindelar is going to continue to try an throw the ball to make that state record as out of reach as possible for the next guy. In the end...I say 42-35 Mayfield

After all is said above here's my take... we can win when we play like crap against a really good team. And the backflip by the Russellville player was the turning point in the game... We got the momentum after that and never lost it. It was a pretty backflip though...

Not busting on this kids decision at all but I thought he was better than Lipscomb??? Am I wrong?

I agree and I will also say that I think there is a college where everyone in this top 10 could play ball...some reason many just don't look this far West for basketball players.

Not sure about Mayfield being #8. they beat Carlisle this summer and I'm pretty sure will handle Graves this year....Graves that high based on past success...not sure that hold true this year. I see Mayfield solid 7 or Maybe even 6 and Bacon better than a couple above him on this list.

Murray keeps Caldwell's offense on the sideline and uses the clock. I'm going for a Caldwell win but a MUCH lower scoring affair then they are used to. Caldwell 35.....Murray 21

Vogt is being recruited on height alone and his upside due to height...not his playing ability now.

I think Mayfield will surprise some this year. They have some scary quick guards that were relentless on defense and forced alot of turnovers and run outs this summer when they played a few local teams. They are going to really frustrate some big guys being up under them this year on D.

I'm with you snake. ..So Rookie, you are saying that Murray, Graves and PT would be guaranteed wins for anyone else? Did you actually watch all 3 of these games and are aware of those teams wins this year since Mayfield? Graves beat McCracken...PT beat Henderson Co and Murray dang near beat Mayfield...and those are guaranteed wins for any of the top 5 1A?............wow

Now I have to disagree with you...Mayfield wins this game.. I'm just asking to quantify to weak team comment being one point in OT from an unbeaten record and the point totals thusfar nearly identical to ever other championship team of the last 4 years..it just doesn't jive.
