I was a proponent for moving Beechwood up after beating CovCath.

Now that Ryle also beat CovCath I think Pikeville is back at #2.

Pikeville has a heck of a resume. I don't think anyone would argue with them being #2 - but not because Cov Cath lost virtually every starting skill player plus their #2 QB to injury and lost a close game to a rising 6A school.

Did all of those players play the game against Beechwood or did the Tigers have a similar depleted roster to defeat?

Either way I think it is close between the two and if we did a blind resume against Mayfield I think both actually would have a very nice case for #1.

Much like you though I have to give Mayfield the benefit of the doubt until they do something to prove otherwise.

"IF" any changes I may put Pikeville at #2, Beechwood at #3, both have impressive wins though. Maybe list them as #2A and #2B.

Paintsville is pretty good as well, I think that maybe they should be higher.

The reason I put Pikeville at #1 is for a few reasons. #1) Paintsville.. They beat this team by 60 pts and since then, Paintsville has beaten an improving LCA team who beat Middlesboro handily and also a solid Fairview team.. To me, that makes that win more impressive than it did 2-3 weeks ago. #2) Belfry manhandling a solid CAK team.. That was a great win, but, moreso, the margin was what was impressive. This is a team that in 2011 and 2012, knocked off Alcoa 4 times. I realize this isn't the same CAK team, but, still impressive and makes the Belfry win by Pikeville even more impressive. #3) The Beechwood win over Franklin Co looks a little less impressive now that they've played a few more games and dropped out of the Top 10. #4) You could certainly make a case for Mayfield and they've been about as solid as you could ask, but, McCracken has come back to earth some and that OT loss isn't as good as it initially looked and while they have some nice wins over Graves, Murray and Tilghman, all 3 of those have been up and down and none really a signature win like Pikevile has.

I am pretty sure they all played against Beechwood.

I can see a case for Pikeville being #1, while Mayfield has done nothing to lose it's spot either.

Mayfield is the signature game for these teams while McCracken escaped with the win , I thought we handled the others just fine.

Pikeville should be #1, after that beechwood then mayfield. Mayfield is not as strong this year as these two. BUT, they will still beat beechwood to get to BG again where pikeville will win.
