The Top 5 "Sleeping Giant" Programs in Kentucky
Also until the KHSAA quits letting them get away with not making out-of-district athletes pay tuition while others still have to foot the bill plays into their cards. If one benefit is provided to a select few and not all isn't that considered impermissible? It has been proven that if you threaten legal action against Julian and the other puppets at the KHSAA they will let you get away with anything. (See the Tigers late 2014 acquisition of a RB) Last time I checked they have legal counsel on staff so why not call their hand.

Dunbar New Coach
Confirmed? Although the record may not indicate it, he has done a tremendous job changing the culture of GC football.

Barren County dropping Glasgow
You see it happening more often than not. I have family in Johnson County and was disappointed to see when Paintsville decided to quit playing Johnson Central for the Apple Bowl. I would go annually to the festival to see family and we would go to the game.

Majority of Super Bowl 50 rosters were 3 star recruits not 4 and 5 star
Agree. There is too much stock placed on the official "star rating" system for the recruiting process. A lot of good players fly under the radar because they don't attend combines, especially the ones that play multiple sports. Which, in essence, is driving the specialization of athletes even earlier.

Can OVC schools give partial football schlorships
Yes

Is Paintsville's Kash Daniel hurt?
I spoke with a close friend that lives in Paintsville. From what I was told, Kash did in fact have a MRI on his knee. Initial report was a potential ACL injury. Truly hope this is not the case, he is a tremendous player with a bright future ahead of himself at UK.

4A 2nd round Greenup @ Johnson Central
Actually, it was 21-0 at the half. Went back and looked at a previous update thread.

Final Johnson Central 2 Tates Creek 1
Very impressive win for JCHS.

2015 Class 4A Preseason Top 10
Not saying they don't have a chance, but if you were doing a preseason ranking you have to look at what happened in the previous year and what each has returning. Football is a funny game and left to be played on the field. Stranger things have happened. Baker is solid, as is O'Bryan, but the battle in the trenches would favor JC and that has been the difference the past two times.

2015 Class 4A Preseason Top 10
No idea how one would have Ashland above JC, considering they have 18 of 22 starters back from a team that has beat Ashland a combined 84-14 the past two seasons.

Weight Meet at Raceland 2-28-15
I was curious about JC myself, but spoke to an old friend that went. Only 8 were football players of the 14 JC took, and as one mentioned, some only competed in specific lifts and not all 3. The majority of the team is still wrestling, due to state being pushed back till next week, or were at baseball practice.

Former Estill County Engineer Cade Berryman
I was assuming that the positions being listed as QB/K that he was going as a QB. A true honor to be selected among the elite K's in the country. Best of luck to the young man.

Active Region Tournament Streaks
Looking at the 15th region, Belfry has definitely benefitted from a 3 team district (Belfry, Pike Cent, Phelps).

Former Estill County Engineer Cade Berryman
That's great, but the NFL Combine wrapped up yesterday in Indianapolis. Are you sure it's not a pro day? Either way an invite to participate is a huge accomplishment.

2016 Athlete Bryce Workman - Johnson Central
I watched this and can say, I'm very impressed. I looked him up on a search engine and came across his performance at the Northeast Super Combine in Canton. From the appearance, he performed very well.

Belfry Completes 2015 Schedule with Newport Central Catholic
Is their schedule still complete? As of yesterday there were rumors beginning to circulate about Harlan County dropping them in week 2, any validity to those claims?
-
Belfry Completes 2015 Schedule with Newport Central Catholic
Not saying that it didn't, but from what I could gather it was an assistant coach and not Matney that made the efforts. Regardless, Belfry will continue to be in the thick of things come playoff time due to their quality opponents during the regular season.

So is this a for sure thing?

Belfry Completes 2015 Schedule with Newport Central Catholic
Great addition for Belfry. I know that JC contacted NCC 3 times for the same open date, but no response. Truly a tough competition early on and will get both teams ready for the remainder of the season and in to the playoffs. Got to love Belfry and their quality of opponents annually. Hats off to Haywood and the Pirates for this schedule.
