35th: 1. Beechwood 2. Covington Catholic 3. Holy Cross 4. Holmes 5. Covington Latin

33rd District : As always, the 33rd is probable the hardest district to get out of in the 9th Region.The biggest match up will be #1 Ryle vs # 4 Boone. Their district game ended in a 1-0 win for Ryle. Only run was unearned and scored on a mental mistake by Boone.

Look for this game to be a battle.

 

2nd game will be #2 Conner vs. #3 Cooper. - Conner has been hot, but like all of the 33rd teams, Cooper has pitching that can cause trouble.

 

33rd is filled with some talented seniors who will not lay down easy.

Why not do a seeded tournament in the 39th. Augusta and St. Pat are way below Mason County and Bracken. Seems unfair towards Mason and Bracken.

There's a post on the basketball page discussing this very topic. The one where Bracken has canceled all away games with Augusta and St.Pat's. Their reasoning was the seeding debate and the baseball/softball draw pushed them over the edge.

14th Region District Tournaments:

 

53rd District:

(1) Letcher County Central (5-0) 1 game remains with Cordia

(2) Knott County Central (4-2)

(3) Jenkins (1-4) one game remains with Cordia. Could have some influence in 3 & 4 if Cordia can def. Jenkins by 3+

(4) Cordia (0-4) 2 games remain with Letcher and Jenkins.

 

1 & 2 are all but locked down. 3 & 4 is still up in the air.

 

 

54th District:Perry Central @ Leslie County

55th District:

(1) Jackson City (4-0)

(2) Breathitt County (2-2)

(3) Wolfe County (2-4)

 

Riverside isn't participating in post season play.

 

56th District:

(1) Estill County (5-0) One game remains with Powell County. Estill leads 2-0 Top 3 when that game resumes, whenever that maybe.

(2) Powell County (4-1) Powell's lone game with Estill remains. Powell trails Estill 2-0 going into the top of 3 when the game resumes. Estill defeated Powell by 1 in 10 innings so the Pirates need to win by 2 to get the 1 seed.

(3) Lee County (0-4) Have yet to play Owsley County this season.

(4) Owsley County (0-4) have yet to play Lee County this season.

Some schools need to follow the lead of Riverside.

I believe the first round games in the 33rd are both being played on Sunday, 5/22, to accommodate graduation dates at each of the schools.
