This was a good game from start to finish. Congrats to Ryle on their senior night victory. Ryle's ability to make their free throws down the stretch ended any hopes of a NDA come from behind victory enabling Ryle to stretch the lead which had been held at a few points either way most of the game. Good luck to Ryle as they enter districts. Let's go Pandas. Need to get ready for a very good Holy Cross team.

Agree with paNDA. The next game is the one that matters. Nice win for NDA. Both teams played hard and showed good sportsmanship as well as good basketball play. Finally it was a well coached game on both sides. Refs let them play the whole game which allowed the girls to decide the outcome. Just like every game should be decided.

Was a fun game to watch following the loss to HHS in the Conner tournament. Both teams played hard. In my opinion the difference between the two games was the number of fouls called. First game I think the birds shot 31 free throws. This game more like 10. Way to go Pandas.

That is a cool picture. Field looks great. Didn't see the large CCH in the South west corner of the complex. That must be way up there.

Looking for a good year for the Colonels. No doubt the schedule is tough, and the Colonels may not win every game. However they need to say the course and keep getting better every week. The teams they will meet in the playoffs will be doing the same. Looking forward to this season no matter how challenging the schedule. Go Colonels!

Not sure how the times compare to the state record. Don't really know where to go look for that information. I do know that they are seeded 1st in the 4x100 and 2nd in the 4x200 by a few 1/100 seconds. Should a be a good race. Hope neither team false starts or has a problem with handoffs. Would like to see an exciting finish and of course Lee McClure crossing the line for the Colonels 1st. Go Colonels.

In a complete team effort, the Colonels edged the Knights from Lexington Catholic by one point to bring home the Championship. In the process, the Colonels set new school records in the 4x100m and 4x200m relays. Congratulations to the Colonels.

AllenR, Thanks for sharing the Pics. The only person in Rupp more disappointed than the Owensboro team/fans that that shot was released before the horn blew and went in was the bald ref. No doubt he would have ran onto the court blowing his whistle for 10 seconds so that everyone would be watching him and only then, wave off the basket with an overly exaggerated swinging of the arms. Great game to watch the players from both teams. Congratulations Colonels on a great run. Congratulations Owensboro on the win and eventual title. Very deserving.

Good Luck to Coach Eviston and the rest of the staff. Looking forward to football season already and it is only March.

1. Fieger, Beechwood A Senior that should have an outstanding finish to an already very good career. 2. Dressman, CCH A Senior that was forced into starting without preparation his sophomore year and did quite well. Good luck next year. These are based upon who I actually saw play so the pool is limited. There might be others better I have not watched, but these two should be pretty good next year.

Appreciate that, but those are the only two that matter. The second one more than the first.

You play the game to win. Whatever it takes for your team to score more points than your opponent is all that matters. Flip the question around, losing 42-7 is just as big of a loss as a 37-34 loss. One loss was low scoring blowout while the other was a high scoring closer finish, but at the end of the day, the offensive production was not enough to win the game. So the true measure of offensive success is beating your opponent. Get the first down when you need to. Get the field goal when you need to. Get the touchdown when you need to. Milk the clock when you need to. Quick strike when you need to. At the end of the game, you were successful offensively if you won the game.

1. There are a lot of benefits to a private education. Every teacher cares about every kid for starters. None of them are coasting into retirement. 2. Nobody wants to beat the 3rd ,8th or 14th best team in the state for a championship. To be the best you need to play and beat the best. I enjoy the CCH Highlands series. Not the results the past 8 years, but I do enjoy the game. Mutual respect among the teams. 3. Facilities are a work in progress. Improvements are on the way. 4. Every team's expectations should be to win. That is why you keep score. 5. Cov Cath parents historically are very supportive of the coaching staff for all sports and faculty as well. Just like at any other school (or business for that matter.) there are complainers that should be kept in perspective.

Whoever the next coach is, he will inherit a program that is in better shape now than it was when Coach Wirth arrived. This is not to be a shot at Dave Brossart as I have great respect for him as both a coach and more importantly a person. Brossart inherited a team that was lacking in both experience and talent and had to scramble to assemble a coaching staff in the time he had. The next step for the program will require 100% commitment from both the Coach to the team (Includes the school as well) and the team (Parents included) to the Coach. Anything less and you will get more of the same. Coming from a CCH grad and parent, whoever the next coach is will have my support, just like all of the previous coaches had. Go Colones!!!
