Content1 Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Congrats to the St. Henry, Highlands, and Ryle girls teams who won their respective A-AAA championships. And congrats to Brossart, Covcath, and Cooper who won the boys regional championships. Here are links to complete results for A, AA, and AAA. Well done to all the participants who left it all on the track/field, improved a PR, qualified for the state meet, or just had a good time at no one elses expense! :thumb: Region 4 A A Results Region 4 AA AA Results Region 5 AAA AAA Results Best wishes to all the graduating seniors, those that will be participating in the state meet, and thank you to all those who volunteer their time and energy to enable/help our NKY athletes the opportunity to compete.
Content1 Posted May 17, 2015 Author Posted May 17, 2015 Feel free to share your favorite regional champ meet moments. I'll get the ball rolling with: watching Matt Isbel set a new Dixie Heights High Jump record at 6-6.25 in a driving downpour and about a 20 mph wind at Campbell County yesterday afternoon. Dixie 4x100 and 4x200m relay teams setting new PRs on the season and qualifying for state. Coopers mid-distance runners were stellar yesterday and clinched the regional meet for their team in the last few events. Anyone witness the AA Erpenbeck-Venneman dash showdowns? Or see St. Henry girls pole vaulter, Kim Spritzkys', national elite performance? Congrats to Kim on a great vault!
oldgrappler Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 I am proud of the Boone County 4x100 relay team that achieved a personal best time of 44.51 to capture second place and qualify for the state meet. Way to go Joel, Jerry, Carlos, and Rondell. Sophomore Rondell Douglas of Boone County set a personal best in the 100 M dash of 11.25 to win the event and qualify for state. Jenna Doellman of Boone County took first place in the women's high jump and the triple jump and took second in the long jump to qualify for state in three events. And we must mention 8th grader, Juliet McGregor of Ryle who won the women's 100M and 200M dashes convincingly. She qualified in both events to compete in the High School state championships as a Middle School athlete. Fantastic!
uk#1fan Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 SKs Logan Winkler won the triple jump and long jump. Johnson from Dixie got first and Tucker Mueller got 2nd in shot put. Johnson also won discus.

Cannot say enough good things about Juliet McGregor. The young lady can flat out fly! :thumb:

You have to throw Bradford from Holmes in the mix with Erpenbeck and Venneman, he was right with them in both the 100 and 200. Erpenbeck held off a surging Venneman and Bradford in the 100 where they went 1,2,3 in a very close race. In the 200 Venneman easily won with Bradford second and Erpenbeck finishing a distant 3rd in a race he did not look his best. Venneman also easily won the 400.
oldgrappler Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I have to follow up with some more news since the dust has settled in the other state qualifying meets. In addition to the Boone boys 4x100 relay team, the 4x200, and 4x400 now have also qualified for the state meet. And I believe Boone's women's 4x200 has also now qualified.

Clyde Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Shout out to my youngest BirdBrain for making his first trip to the State meet this weekend. 4 x 100 . I'm hoping they place well and his experience is awesome. You'll have fun. The sprint events are a blast to watch. My son graduated in 2005 and one of his classmates was a hurdler and had a chance to win the state championship in a few events. Those races were a thrill to watch.
