  1. Looking forward to the start of the season. Will be fun to see how the new guys step up. Good Luck Colonels.
  2. Thanks for posting those links CWB. After the game, we stopped in at the Pub in Ft Thomas for a beer and it was silent, absolutely dead silent.
  3. Expect Dixie to be good. Very good. I wish them luck in every game except one. Good luck Red Colonels.
  4. I can't speak for all of Northern Kentucky, but the best lineman at CCH is Sam Murrer. He probably had the best season of any of the lineman on the team last year as a Junior.
  5. If memory is correct, Pat Towles' senior year CCH missed high on a 4th down pass into the end zone to take the lead or tie in the closing minutes of the game at CCH. Highlands has had some extremely good teams recently. Even though they have not been beaten by CCH, in some instances, they could have been. I believe every year CCH has a chance to win district. This year, I believe they will.
  6. As a Cov Cath fan, I am biased, but the greatest comeback I ever saw was the 1997 Mud Bowl in Ft. Thomas. Highlands had completely dominated the first half. before going to their locker room at halftime. CCH went to the North endzone in the pouring rain. Highlands returned to the field in fresh, clean, dry uniforms to start the 3rd quarter and proceeded to try to score 100 points. In the process, they allowed the Colonels from Covington Catholic to steal victory. Greatest comeback. That's the greatest I ever saw.
  7. Cov Cath will finish the regular season at be 9-1. Undefeated in Kentucky.
  8. Teams should play in their class, unless moving up to play good competition in their local Geographical region. In the past, CCH and Highlands both played up to 5A to reduce travel and play some very good distrit competition. I am a CovCath fan and would prefer to stay in class and face Highlands than to petition to move up to "get away" from playing the Birds. Moving up to get a shot at a state title is just plain ridiculous. With that said, I hope the CCH administration stays in the appropriate class unless we can keep the birds and pickup say Dixie, Connor and a couple other good local teams for our district. Go Colonels.
  9. Hope nothing but the best for this young man. Good Luck.
  10. Great for all of the families involved. Player, Coaches, Cousins, etc. All schools in the DOC with the same schedule was a long time coming. God 1st, Family 2nd, everything else can battle for 3rd.
  11. It's all a matter of how the classes compliment each other. This upcoming Senior Class for CCH will leave its mark on the program. The Underclassman will have a stamp as well. To your point, this group of Seniors for CCH to be played JV as sophomores. The HHS team that held onto victory in large part due to an offsetting penalties following a play which would have given CCH 1st and goal from the two. Then a member of the chain crew was penalized twice for 15 yards each and CCH, faced with 3rd and forever did not pick up the first. CCH lost the game. Also a point to mention is that the CCH team played 90% sophomores in the game (Current Senior Class) and HHS played 90% Juniors, and their RB was actually a Senior. The past does not matter. Both CCH and HHS will strap em up and play. Should be a fun season.
