14-6 Mercer up at the half. Mercer ran a good two minute drill Drakeford ran it in from 35 out for the 2nd score. Yulee with the 1st score.

Mercer had a TD called back at the end of the 1st half that would have started the running clock at 36-0. 2nd half would have been a lot different. Still Mercer needs to come out better and put teams away in the 2nd half. Two weeks in a row they have dominated the 1st half and struggled 2nd half.

No hating just frustrated As I am sure everyone involved in the program from coaches, players and fans. This team should be 4-1 but have started 1-4. You talk about what was lost from last year. Gillis is probably the best QB we have had since the merger. Trevon Faulkner and Aaron Johnson the two best receivers we have had since the merger and they have all graduated that is a fact. Another fact is they completed 53% of passes last year. Another fact is we are completing 53% of passes per khsaa through 4 games this year. Mercer has started very slow the last 4 years and turned it around and hopefully can do it again this year.

Your right having a balanced offense and being unpredictable is crazy talk.

Coaches can't control 3 fumbles and players can't control running the ball with 5 minutes left down 2 touchdows in the 4th qtr. Time for everybody from hog town to go back to the drawing board

Waggener can match Danville athletically and their back will probably be the best player on the field. I don't know that Waggener can handle Danville up front. If Waggener's Oline can hold up they have more playmakers.

Doesn't Boyle have a player with high D-1 offers at running back that has been playing the whole season? I know Crawford is a great player and put up really good numbers throughout his career. Why has the running game struggled so much as other posters have stated when you still have a RB with high D1 offers back there?

Agree with all of that. I think Mercer will stick with the game plan of running 80% of the time. The only time they have really opened up the offense was the last drive against John Hardin. They went 60 yards in about 55 seconds. Anderson has a good team I don't know that Mercer can hang with them up front on the offensive or defensive line. Mercer matches up ok everywhere else.

Jagger is a good player he ran the ball good against Mercer last year. Gunnar seemed to be under pressure the whole game last year

On paper this one doesn't look good for Mercer. Anderson has scored 75 points in 2 games while only giving up 14. Mercer has scored 33 points in the 1st two games while giving up 54. Anderson doesn't report stats to KHSAA so how have they scored the 75 points? I know they have a good transfer RB but are they passing much? From a quick glance at KHSAA for Mercer looks like through the 1st two games they have ran the ball 75-80% of the time and by the 33 points scored look to be struggling on offense.

The 1st extra point was bad snap/bobbled hold and holder picked it up tried to run. She hit the only extra point she attempted. Mercer went for two on a the other conversion and fumbled into the endzone

Has GRC improved some? I saw them about two years ago and they were pretty bad and fans in the stands didn't seem too happy. Anderson has a very good line and some good running backs. Not sure their passing game will be all that great but the QB can run and is athletic.

I think Prep spin will be there and local radio will be there.

Funny that out of this whole article there are two pages of comments on the fact that he started playing youth football a year before he was supposed to. That was the least important info out of the whole article to me.

I am not saying one is right the other is wrong just that there is a big difference between the two. Who do you see winning each district in 4A?

Big difference between this poll and the Herald Leader. Both have JC and FS 1 and 2 but Herald Leader has Collins and Rockcastle 4 & 6 and they aren't in the BG top 10. Probably hard to gauge pre season high school football polls with graduation and new players coming in.

Lemons?

Extremely hard to replace skill guys like Trevon, Aaron Johnson and Jackson Lewis. I agree Yeast and Yulee can be very good backs if they can stay healthy. Jon Jon, Dillon Warren and Jamisen Lewis probably the top recievers. Drakeford brings a different style to playing QB than Gillis did the last few years. On defense the linebackers and DB's should be ok. This team will be as successful as their Oline and Dline. Last year once they got things figured out with the Dline in the playoffs they made a good run.

One of the favorites or the undisputed favorite? I don't think we have had an undisputed favorite in 3 years or so in the 12th region.
