The first two weeks have gone well. We have plenty of work ahead of us and we are a work in progress. But, we are going in the right direction and our investment in culture over the offseason is paying off. Our overall team strength is also substantially better.

Who are some of the new faces that are expected to be the leaders this year?

 

I expect Kaelin Drakeford to be one of the best players and I think the Yeast kid comes back also. Who else is there?

There are bound to be a few, I’m not expecting, that will show out and have a great season. But another guy to keep an eye on would be Malachi Yuley. Kid is strong and quick. He and Yeast will most likely be our running backs. That being said though, Jackson Lewis kinda came out of nowhere last year, and it wouldn’t surprise me a bit to see his little brother Jamison have a great year! At wide receiver, Jon Jon Logue will be a consistent target...lots I’m missing, but there’s a few more guys to keep an eye on

I work with Jon Jon’s Dad and they have a team in the Corning Fantasy Football league. Great family. I’d love to see Jon Jon have a great year.

 

Chad Asbury takes care of our fields.... the same guy that did our field at Mason. This is the bermuda on the practice field for our MS & freshmen. Our varsity practices on the old Mercer gamefield and we play our games at old Harrodsburg HS. Chad does a great job with all of our fields. Our kids have a great place to play and practice!

Extremely hard to replace skill guys like Trevon, Aaron Johnson and Jackson Lewis. I agree Yeast and Yulee can be very good backs if they can stay healthy. Jon Jon, Dillon Warren and Jamisen Lewis probably the top recievers. Drakeford brings a different style to playing QB than Gillis did the last few years. On defense the linebackers and DB's should be ok. This team will be as successful as their Oline and Dline. Last year once they got things figured out with the Dline in the playoffs they made a good run.
