Yes whom ever gets the job needs to realize it will be a process and a tough one. The people who hire need to realize it will be a long process as well. Marion usually has athletes, but you have to work the feeder systems. Is Lebanon middle the only public middle school in the county?

Regardless of who gets the job they are going to have to give the guy time. They were 0-10 last season. Only 2 teams scored fewer points in 4A and only 1 team gave up more points. And if it's true what they above poster said about Lebanon Middle not fielding a football team, then it's a lot of problems over there. Commander I agree a lot of schools feel like they need to just get rid of a coach, not knowing who will apply for the job. Then more cases than not they are stuck with a different coach with pretty much the same resume at a similar school as the coach they fire. As for Larue I wouldn't judge Hatmaker on this first year. They did show some improvements as they scored basically the same amount of points, but gave up about 100 less. So maybe in the next couple years that could translate into some wins. Who knows maybe Jaggers would have had the same or more success will never know. I'm sure if he wants he will get a job real soon, considering his name seems to be mentioned for every open job.

I don't think anyone is debating the merits of Adair County's team. The question was asked what do they need to improve on to knock off an Etown or Caldwell. Being from Central Kentucky area I think most seen the potential in the Adair County program. Robbins last year they were 7-4 with a win against Franklin Simpson. Also it was when there were 4 classes and tougher then IMO. If they would have hired the right coach then maybe the momentum, which makes this hire very important.

No I agree with you, as I can see both sides. My solution would be just not to coach or be a Head Coach. Just teach or be an assistant.

My guess would be the assistant there already, or the Middle School coach. I can't see them going to hire Jaggers, when someone in house is just as capabile. Like you said Doyle I see no reason to rock the boat when you have people in hosue qualified and wanting the job.

Why was the previous coach let go? I thought he did a very good job at Casey County.

I think the issue here is that the larger (County School) is dropping the smaller city school. In most cases its the other way around.

Great job the only problem is Etown in the district and a region with Caldwell and Puducah. If any year they could beat those teams this year is the year. Not only do they have the above guys returning they also have a WR/DB who was hurt most of last year returning as well.

Schue I agree some 5th Region games turn into football games. Dom gets fouls regardless of the team because how hard he drives it to the rim.

Balance will be the key for TC the rest of the year. Everyone knows what Goodin and Sloan can do, but its up to the others to provide some positive minutes.

After Taylor beat NH @NH they are the favorite.

That is a major surprise, maybe TC is coming around. I also seen in the stats they got double digit scoring from 2 other players beside Goodin and Sloan. I would have throught NH win this one pretty easily.

Sloan and Goodin get their's, but NH just got to much for TC. NH seems to be improved from last season, and TC is missing 22 points and 4 rebounds from Berry when they meet in the region. Morganson had 10 and Webster had 8 rebounds.

That could changed things, although I still don't think they can win a state title, but they could win the region maybe. I've been told her averaged around 16 and 5 last season. I also heard he is around 6'4-6'5 range which will give them much needed size. This could also let others settle into familiar roles as last year and not try to be scorers, when they are role players. Wonder what took so long for him to get eligible? Seems pretty simple rather or not the kid moved to Taylor County district. Isn't like Bowling Green is next door to Taylor County, would be a long drive everyday.

Could that preseason ranking have factored in the fact that the transfer would be able to play? I never bought into TC being #1 they lost 3 good players, and as mentioned take Goodin and Sloan off they would probably be winless

Haven't seen Bardstown play this year so they couldd be another team to give taylor a run. Even after losing to Adair I don't think they can bear them again. On defense TC problem is they try to gamble WAY to much, and have no type of inside presence

Taylor will have to get the transfer able to play to have any shot at getting out the region and will still have a tough time getting passed North Hardin. Goodin and Sloan are averaging 50 points and 15 rebounds a game. I thought from the start of the year Taylor was a little to high ranked.

If you have to win your region player of the year then either Faulkner or Goodin will not be in the running. I think people will look at Goodin Career and national rankings and offers and give it to him.

TC for sure needs another scorer

Taylor County would still be favorite to win the region IMO, for the fact Goodin and Sloan can both go for 30 any given night. I think alot depends on if and how good the transfer will be. I think Adair has a chance to make the regional semi's. Their draw will automatically put them opposite Taylor Co. Adair's athletes can match up player for player with anyone in the 5th. And getting the new coach has giving them a shot in the arm.

Taylor isn't nearly as good IMO as they were last year. Berry Average 16 PPG on 53% shooting and grabbed 5 rebounds a game. Also had games were he scored 29 and 28 points. Webster avg. 6 points and 6 rebounds and gave them a physical and hustle guy. Morganson averaged 8 PPG shot 54% from the 3 point line, and could also run Point if he needed to. Adair is far from the worse team in the region and has some talent. Beside Sloan and Goodin (who would start on 99.999% of the teams in the state) Nobody else from Taylor would Start for Adair County.
